New to Grow
I’m Dr. Traci Muramoto, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, adults, elders, and families through life’s challenges. I am licensed in Hawai’i, Nevada, and Iowa, and I bring a culturally responsive, evidence-based approach to therapy. My practice focuses on helping clients navigate life transitions, relationship stress, anxiety, grief, caregiving, aging, and family change. I work best with individuals and families who are open to reflection, healing, and creating meaningful change at their own pace. My goal is to provide a supportive, grounded space where clients can better understand themselves, strengthen communication, build healthier coping skills, and move toward greater emotional well-being.
In our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, non-judgmental, and collaborative space where they are invited to share what brings them to therapy at their own pace. We will begin by discussing your current concerns, personal history, strengths, and goals for therapy. This first meeting is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, get a feel for my approach, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit. My goal is to create a nurturing environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported. Together, we will begin identifying what you hope to change, what has been challenging, and what inner strengths and coping skills can support your healing. I view therapy as a collaborative process, and I strive to empower clients as they build self-awareness, improve communication, and move toward meaningful change in their lives.
My approach stands out because I meet clients where they are, while also gently supporting them toward growth and change. I understand that healing does not look the same for everyone. For clients experiencing grief, loss, aging, caregiving stress, or major life transitions, I offer a calm and compassionate space where silence, reflection, and emotion are welcomed rather than rushed. At the same time, I can also provide thoughtful guidance and gentle challenge when clients feel stuck or unsure of how to move forward. I balance warmth with honesty, helping clients explore patterns, strengthen self-awareness, and identify practical steps toward their goals. My work is collaborative, nurturing, and empowering, with the goal of helping clients reconnect with their inner strength and create meaningful change at their own pace.
I work best with children, teens, adults, older adults, and families who are navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, grief, and the emotional impact of aging, caregiving, or family change. With many years of experience supporting children and adolescents, I understand the unique developmental, emotional, and family dynamics they face and enjoy partnering with families to foster resilience and healthy growth. My ideal clients are motivated to better understand themselves, strengthen communication, build effective coping skills, and feel more grounded in their daily lives. I enjoy working with individuals and families who are open to reflection, healing, and creating meaningful, lasting change at their own pace.

Psychodynamic
I use a psychodynamic approach to help clients better understand how past experiences, relationships, and unconscious patterns may be influencing their current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, I create a safe and supportive space for clients to explore recurring themes, unresolved conflicts, attachment patterns, and emotional responses. Together, we work toward increasing self-awareness, improving insight, and developing healthier ways of coping, relating to others, and making meaningful changes.
