About me

Hello! I am Sandhiya(pronounced Sun-thee-ya) Baladhandapani. I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) practicing in Pennsylvania. I completed my Master’s at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2019. My clinical background includes work with children, teens, young adults, and adults in community mental health and school settings in Chicago and Pittsburgh. I currently offer individual psychotherapy for young adults and adults with anxiety, low mood, self esteem concerns, grief and loss, cultural identity, academic and career stress/transitions, and the stress that can come with change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will begin by getting to know your story, history, background, relationships, and what brings you to therapy now. I will also walk you through my practice policies and answer any questions for you. Most importantly, I will listen closely so we can clarify your goals and determine whether we are the right fit to work together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach is psychodynamic which is thoughtful, insight oriented and reflective. My role is to provide a steady and respectful space where you can explore your inner world at your own pace and you make connections that bring clarity and lasting growth. In our work, we may notice patterns that repeat in different areas of your life, understand the deeper narratives that shape them, and create space for new ways of relating to yourself.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Many of my clients come to therapy because they feel held back in cycles of self-doubt or difficulty moving through stress/life transitions that limit their sense of personal agency and possibility. They are often people who want more clarity and freedom in how they relate to themselves and others, and who value a therapy process that emphasizes both reflection and autonomy. They are motivated to look inward, curious about the patterns that shape their lives, and willing to engage in a thoughtful process that values honesty and patience.
