New to Grow
Hello! I'm Maria. Professionally, I am a licensed clinical social worker that has worked in a variety of contexts including mental health, schools and the juvenile justice system. Personally, I am a mom, a dog lover, an ex-athlete and aspiring wellness coach. All of the titles I wear shape my therapeutic approach - ultimately, we all balance several identities and are impacted by our experiences. Therapy can be a great place to explore ourselves fully and work towards holistic wellness and healing. I understand it can feel like there is no perfect time to enter therapy. I aim to provide a safe and transformative therapeutic space to work through stressors, increase motivation, learn new coping skills and prioritize self-love to ultimately improve functioning. I am passionate about creating an environment in which you feel heard and empowered to make changes that positively impact your life.
I don’t believe therapy is a “one size fits all” approach. I am committed to utilizing empathy and respect to create an individualized experience. I pull from a variety of techniques that are centered on your personal goals. Life coaching, in addition to mental and emotional health can all be discussed in session. I look forward to connecting with you!
Clients that are dealing with anxiety and PTSD, trauma, relationship issues, general stress and difficulty finding balance are a great match for me. I have particular experience with youth and teens, athletes, and parents with teenage kids. Ideally, my clients are looking to make a positive change in their lives, either in mental health or general wellness. We can create goals together that match your unique situation and are tailored and realistic to your life.

People oftentimes think therapy is about making changes outside of ourselves. ACT builds on who we are as people and works on enhancing our self-esteem to truly accept ourselves where we are at. This can oftentimes be the first (or last) component in true change.
Our brain is our most powerful muscle. Sometimes, it just gets stuck in a negative loop. Once we become aware of our loop, we can be empowered to change it and therefore change the way we feel.
I am currently in the process of being certified for this type of therapy, specifically with children. PTSD symptoms can be extremely disruptive to our daily lives. This type of therapy focuses on addressing the trauma, coping with it directly and re-telling our narrative from a more healed space. It can be extremely impactful at reducing symptoms.
