Hello! I’m Tara Melvin Jr (she/her/hers), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and the therapist behind Clio Pathways LLC. You may be feeling stuck, anxious, or unsure of who you are during a life transition. Past experiences or trauma may keep resurfacing or you may be exploring your identity. You want therapy that meets your needs, where someone sees you as a whole person and helps you feel understood and capable of moving forward. I aim to make therapy practical, collaborative, and focused on what actually helps you. I provide telehealth therapy for adults and couples. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and identity exploration. I teach skills like boundary setting, assertive communication, and emotion regulation. I work with poly and LGBTQ+ clients and marginalized groups. My eclectic, integrative approach draws from evidence-based therapies. Life can feel confusing or overwhelming and therapy can help you make sense of it. I provide honest, collaborative support. I help you explore your identity, process experiences, and develop skills to move forward. If this feels like a fit, let's coordinate for an intake session.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, you can expect to spend time sharing an overview of your journey: what brings you to therapy, your experiences, and your goals. This session helps us build a full picture together, and we’ll fill in details as our work continues. I strive to create a space where you feel supported, empowered, and safe to show up authentically. My intention is to help you feel seen and understood as we begin working toward your growth and healing.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My therapy style is collaborative, compassionate, and direct. I believe therapy works best when it feels like an authentic human connection, where honesty, humor, and curiosity are welcome. I am solution focused and not afraid to offer a healthy challenge when it can help you look inward and take meaningful action.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you are balancing work, relationships, school, or simply trying to figure out who you are and where you are headed. I work with adults, college students, and young adults who may be feeling stuck, anxious, or uncertain about the future. My goal is to offer a grounded and nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, explore what is going on, and develop tools that truly help.
