(she/her)
Hello, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona. I received my Masters in Human Development Counseling from the University of Illinois Springfield. I have been working with individuals for 6 years. I help adults learn to empower themselves and take control of their lives through various modalities of therapy. I believe that the main focus of therapy should center around the therapeutic relationship.
The goal in our first session is to build the foundations of our relationship. Whether you've been in therapy for years or you are a first timer, I want you to feel at ease in sharing your story. In our first session, you and I will work to identify and discuss life stressors that are affecting you. I will help you to identify current patterns that may be rooted in past adverse life experiences.
Having navigated personal hardships and heartache, I have developed the capacity to hold space for whatever challenges you may be facing. My practice is built on being warm and nurturing, while remaining authentic and honest. Through my experiences as a wife and mother, I have learned firsthand how to navigate triggers, break generational traumas, and practice self-love. My goal is to provide you with the support and environment necessary to empower yourself and create sustainable changes in your life.
I love working with people who value holistic healing. The different parts of our lives are closely intertwined with one another, and I believe that the healing journey must acknowledge those parts.

EMDR
EMDR is a great modality to help individuals become "unstuck" when they experience a plateau in therapy. While EMDR therapy has a primary purpose to help people heal from the effects of trauma, it can also help with panic attacks, generalized anxiety disorder, phobias, and social anxiety. This is one of my favorite modalities to use because of its effectiveness and flexibility. While I am trained in EMDR therapy, I continually seek EMDR consultation to provide my clients with the utmost service.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As humans, we typically experience thoughts that shift between "all or nothing", "positive or negative", "good or bad", "black or white". CBT is a form of talk therapy that can help to neutralize the intense feelings we experience when rapidly shifting between opposing thoughts. CBT is grounded in both mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I have found that CBT pairs nicely with preparation phases of EMDR therapy.
