For the past 12 years, I have been practicing depth psychotherapy that values the therapeutic relationship. I came to this field in midlife, guided by a deep desire to follow what I have always loved - psychology and psychotherapy. I earned my Master’s degree in a holistic psychology program at the University of West Georgia and pursued additional training in depth psychotherapy with the American Academy of Psychotherapists. My work is grounded in Humanistic psychology and centers on the transformative power of the relationship between therapist and client. I focus on growth rather than pathology, and on understanding the whole person rather than a focus on some aspect of their experience. I am also committed to ongoing self-reflection and personal work. This helps me remain aware of my own dynamics and any barriers that could interfere with being fully present with clients and understanding my clients' life experiences. I approach each person with curiosity rather than judgment, holding a deep trust in every individual’s innate capacity for healing and growth when given the right support, insight, and meaningful therapeutic relationship.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I will take the time to get to know you and understand the main reason you are seeking therapy. I aim to provide a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can speak openly and at your own pace.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am compassionate, non-judgmental and curious. These qualities help me to understand, empathize with and help my clients with their difficulties, life challenges and struggles. I have also experienced my own loss and suffering, and through my own meaning-making of those experiences, I have learned to open my heart more fully to the suffering of others. In addition to lived experience, I have extensive professional training, including many hours of process groups, workshops, and supervision with other therapists, which have positively shaped my therapeutic and interpersonal skills.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults with a variety of life challenges, including depression, lack of meaning, loneliness, helplessness, low self-worth, adjustment related problems, addiction, and other life struggles.

My treatment methods

Experiential Therapy

My work is grounded in a depth psychotherapy approach that values the therapeutic relationship, and focuses on present-moment and in therapy session experiences. I emphasize dealing with past/childhood experiences as they relate to the present, specifically their effect on current relationships and other areas of life.

Humanistic

I focus on the client’s growth as a person rather than on diagnosis or disorders. I take a holistic approach, viewing the whole person rather than focusing on only one aspect, such as behavior or cognition.

Existential

I help clients examine themselves and their existence more deeply, increase their self-awareness, and pursue meaning in life.

Multicultural

I am a psychotherapist dedicated to providing compassionate, and culturally responsive care for all. As a multiculturally oriented therapist, I deeply respect the unique backgrounds, values, and worldviews each client brings. Having lived and worked across diverse cultural settings, I understand how identity, family, spirituality, and social contexts shape our experiences of wellbeing and distress. My approach integrates empathy with curiosity — creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore themselves more fully and move toward greater wholeness.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I view all people as fundamentally good and as possessing strong potential for self-growth and for contributing positively in the world. I help clients to move toward their essential nature. I always strive to understand each client's difficult life situations and I aim to be genuine, honest and real in our therapeutic relationship.
