Hello! I'm Helen a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in unique environments, supporting diverse clients through tough life events, mental health struggles, and anything else that may come their way. I believe in working collaboratively with client's, identifying they are the experts in their own lives and experiences. I have an eclectic style, tailoring sessions to meet my client's where they are in life and helping them reach their goals.
First session will focus on me getting to know you. What brought you to therapy? What are your goals? What are you hoping to get out of this experience? If you're new to this process I also will use the time to educate around what therapy is and what to expect.
I am there to be an empathetic sounding board, giving you space to process and perspective when needed. We are working together, and I value your expertise, your views, and your feedback. I bring my own expertise to help you reach your goals and feel more in control of your life.
I love working with diverse populations and those with diverse experiences. Whether you are struggling with mental illness or the daily stressors of life, everyone is deserving of support. Client's with an open mindset and willingness to make change will benefit best but anyone who is hoping to try out therapy and see what this process can do is welcome!

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a useful tool for developing further insight into your thoughts and actions. This approach focuses on how a person's thought patterns can either intensify or alleviate their symptoms. By examining and adjusting these thought processes, clients can gain greater control over their emotional well-being.
DBT is a useful evidenced based practice that helps with regulating strong emotions. DBT skills are practical tools that can help a number of people in a number of areas in their life.
I believe strongly in meeting my client's where they are at, instead of trying to fit the client to the treatment method. By having an eclectic style I am able to tailor treatment to the client's needs and pull from a number of methods.
