I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I have worked as a therapist for the past 12 years. As a first generation Vietnamese American with immigrant parents, my life experiences of growing up in two very different cultures have taught me ways to navigate through cross-cultural conflicts and have the ability to respond to individuals, couples, and families from diverse cultural systems with compassion and understanding. As a therapist, I empower individuals to draw upon their strengths, heal holistically, and self-love. I will encourage and provide a safe space for you to explore, heal, and have the courage to move forward on a journey toward self-discovery, growth, confident, and love. It will help you become more resilience, improve self-worth, and a healthy deep connection with others.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I mainly use this treatment method for client's who have symptoms relating to depression and anxieties. It helps clients to be more positive and implementing positive thinking and affirmation to help client have more motivation/reassurance. CBT can also help client improve their self-esteem and confidence. CBT help clients replace negative thoughts with positive ones.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

The mindfulness method helps client with relaxation to help clients alleviate symptoms such as worries, anxious, stressed, and rumination. It can help client feels more grounded.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) are use to help client who may have substance use issues or life changes that they are unsure about. MI is a method that use open ended questioning to help client process their change, contemplating thoughts, and help motivate client's to make positive lifestyle changes.

Trauma-Focused CBT

This may allow the client to stay present with recovery, express their emotions more comfortably, and tell their own trauma narrative. Once clients are comfortable telling their story to their therapist, they will normally work together to discover how their past has distorted their perception of reality and how to cope with it in a healthy manner.

Was competent and present but didn’t match my energy. Everything felt by the book and call ended abruptly, I would advise Thuy to time it so you leave room to sum things up, discuss next steps, not we’re out of time, byeeee.
