I am an LCSW and LISW licensed in multiple states the the midwest and the south. I see all of my clients on line for now. I love to provide a safe and comfortable environment for people to share their problems and issues with me. I believe in meeting people where they are, regardless of race, gender, or social/economic status. I work mostly with young adults struggling with life challenges such as relationship issues, job stress, self esteem, and substance abuse issues. I also have a specialty in working with people with Borderline Personality Disorders, and helping others who may have a parent or loved on with BPD. I believe in being honest, protecting my client's privacy, and following therapeutic approaches based on evidence based practice.

First session

In the first couple of session, i like to use narrative therapy. I like gather a lot of information about my clients that make up who they are, such as where they are from, what kind of family did they grow up in, what are their likes and dislikes. This allows me to formulate my treatment plan and approach to each session, based on the personality type of my clients and their needs.

Strengths

Because of my own life experiences professionally and personally, I feel my therapeutic approach stands out because of my body of knowledge, and tools that I have learned in my professional career that help my clients. My therapeutic approach stands out, not only because of the skills I teach, but doing so in a therapeutic way that is comfortable and enjoyable.

Ideal clients

Transitioning into college and into the workforce. Relationship issues with family, spouse or long term partner. Finding identity and a sense of self. I also work with people who are dealing with high demands, or dealing with expectations that were not met. I also work with young adults whom ay be struggling with living on their own, or may be suffering from substance abuse issues.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I used this treatment method to help clients heal from adverse thoughts that affect emotions and influence behavior, and help clients understand by looking at situations differently, can help develop a stronger sense of self.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

EFT is useful when emotions are often suppressed because of trauma and other adverse experiences. EFT allows the client to feel their emotions in a comfortable and safe environment, while the therapist guides the client into the healing process, and gain strength to cope with life stressors.
