New to Grow
Hi, I'm Rachel, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in helping adults heal from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and the lasting effects of difficult life experiences. Many of my clients come to me feeling exhausted. They've spent years trying to push through painful memories, quiet their anxiety, or make sense of experiences that continue to affect their relationships, confidence, sleep, or ability to feel like themselves. Some have tried therapy before but still feel stuck. Others have never talked about what happened because it simply felt too overwhelming. Wherever you are in your journey, you don't have to face it alone. As a therapist trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART®), I offer an evidence-based approach that can help reduce the emotional impact of traumatic memories—often in fewer sessions than traditional talk therapy. One of the things many clients appreciate most about ART® is that you don't have to describe every painful detail of your trauma to experience meaningful healing. Together, we'll work toward helping you feel less overwhelmed by the past so you can be more present in your life today. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. My style is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, and I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where healing can happen at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Imagine waking up without constantly feeling on edge. Imagine memories no longer having the same emotional grip on you. Imagine feeling more like yourself again. That kind of change is possible, and it would be an honor to help you get there. If you're ready to begin your healing journey, I'd love to walk alongside you.
Your first therapy session is about getting to know you—not just what you're struggling with, but your story, your strengths, and what matters most to you. My priority is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, respected, and valued from the very beginning. I want to understand what brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to change, and what healing looks like from your perspective. During our first session, I may ask some intake questions to better understand your background and experiences, but therapy should never feel like an interrogation or a checklist. I believe the foundation of meaningful healing is a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, compassion, and collaboration. Our first session is about beginning that relationship and helping you feel comfortable moving forward. If you've experienced trauma, please know that you do not have to share every detail of what happened in order to begin healing. You never have to talk about something before you're ready. We will move at a pace that feels safe and comfortable for you, honoring your individual journey and respecting that trust takes time to build. Many people come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure if things can truly get better. If you've spent years trying to understand your experiences but still feel weighed down by them, you're not alone. Healing is possible, and therapy can be a place where you begin to feel more connected to yourself, more in control of your life, and less defined by your past. My hope is that you leave your first session feeling seen, supported, and hopeful that change is possible. You don't have to navigate this journey alone—I would be honored to walk alongside you.
The foundation of my work is built on authenticity, respect, trust, and compassion. I believe that feeling safe and understood is an essential part of the healing process, especially for individuals who have experienced trauma, broken trust, or relationships where they did not feel valued or supported. For individuals who have experienced trauma, safety and trust are not things I expect you to simply give—I understand they are things we build together. I believe trust develops through consistency, honesty, compassion, and creating a space where you feel accepted exactly as you are. I strive to create a therapy environment where you can show up as your authentic self without fear of judgment. My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and valued while we work together toward the changes and healing you want in your life. Clients often describe me as warm, approachable, empathetic, and easy to talk to. I take the therapeutic relationship seriously because I believe genuine connection is one of the most important parts of effective therapy. I don't believe therapy is something that happens to you—it is something we do together. I will meet you where you are, honor your experiences, and walk alongside you as you work toward healing, growth, and a stronger connection with yourself.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to begin the process of healing, whether they are taking their first step into therapy or continuing a journey that has left them feeling stuck. While I welcome individuals with many different goals for therapy, I have a special passion for helping people heal from trauma and move toward a life with more peace, confidence, and connection. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling like they understand what happened to them, but they still feel impacted emotionally, physically, or in their relationships. They may struggle with anxiety, feeling constantly on edge, painful memories, difficulty trusting others, or feeling disconnected from themselves. Others may be new to therapy and feel unsure or overwhelmed about where to begin. Wherever you are in your journey, you do not have to navigate it alone. I understand that beginning trauma work can feel like a big step. My goal is to provide a safe, warm, and confidential space where you feel supported and empowered to heal at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we will identify your goals, build on your strengths, and work toward meaningful change. I am passionate about trauma therapy because healing involves more than understanding what happened—it involves helping your mind and body feel safe again. I incorporate holistic, evidence-informed approaches that address the impact of trauma on the whole person. My areas of focus include trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, childhood trauma, relationship trauma, and traumatic grief. I also enjoy working with veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, and others exposed to repeated stress or traumatic experiences.

Trauma Informed Care
I use a variety of trauma-informed methods including TF-CBT, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and trauma-informed practices. Additionally, I am informed in Internal Family Systems therapy. I have been trained in ART since October 2024 and have used ART to reduce distress from many symptoms including anxiety, traumatic grief, PTSD, childhood trauma, relationship distress, assault, and grief.
Motivational Interviewing
I utilize motivational interviewing techniques overall in most all sessions. I use this method especially in situations where clients are unsure of making a needed change (for example, quitting smoking or drinking). It is a non-judgmental, empowering approach to helping clients become ready for change on their own terms.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I use person centered techniques of being an authentic, warm, and non-judgmental therapist in all sessions. I believe that being warm, trustworthy, and a safe person is such an important aspect of trauma therapy. Clients bring to us their untold stories of trauma, abuse, victimization and I take this very seriously. My overall goal is to be a safe person that clients can trust.
