Hi! I'm Natalie, a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master of arts in counseling. I received my master's from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2012. I reside in the DFW area of Texas. I have experience with working with individuals, across the entire lifespan. I have experience with general mental illness to severe mental illness, to Intellectual and developmental disabilities. A host of my clients, have been individuals that deal with depression, anxiety, parenting skills, anger management and behavior modification concerns.

I have experience with general mental illness to severe mental illness, to Intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As a therapist, I believe in empathy. Unconditional positive regard, is high on my list of priorities, when interacting with clients of mine. I believe that we are all, more alike than different. I seek to rid stigmas and to do away with labels. We are greater, together! Easy dialogue, cognitive behavior therapy and talk therapy are typically my approaches. I seek to make therapy/counseling, easy peasy! It is rarely easy to admit the we need help. The fact that you are even looking, is a huge step. Let's work through your issues, together, in an effort to restore normality, for you! I look forward to meeting you!

First session

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions. This is when I get a wee bit nosey. ;) You'll also be able to ask me any questions and or address any concerns that you might have. We'll then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in subsequent sessions.

Strengths

One of my biggest strengths is, unconditionally accepting each client for who they are, exactly, where they are, in their journey of healing. I am open-minded and fundamentally believe that we are all more alike, than different. With me, therapy feels more like a talk session with someone familiar. I actively seek to create a therapeutic space that remove the ultra formal, "couch," approach to therapy.

Ideal clients

I enjoy working with individuals that are seeking change and or guidance on the curve balls that life can sometimes throw. Clients that are seeking talk therapy, psychotherapy and or a different perspective on things are a good fit. All in all, as long as you're open to listening and getting an alternative take on things, we can make progress. I enjoy learning from my clients and analyzing instances from their vernacular, as well.

Going thru a tough time in my life and tried therapy through my job but it wasn’t working. I saw ad for this site and thought I couldn’t hurt. I love that it allowed me to match myself with someone who’s professionalism and demeanor match with my personality. It made it really easy to talk to Natalie. I didn’t feel awkward or embarrassed. It was like speaking to a friend who had similar life experiences. Something I didn’t know I needed.

So down to earth! I spoke with with her about 3 years ago. Although that was a trying time I'm beyond grateful to have had her! Now I just want to continue sessions to tell her the good things happening too. I gloat about her to all my friends because who else have a baddie as a therapist? And my kids loved her too.

Natalie has been incredibly helpful, kind, and patient as a provider. She asks great questions that really make you think. Overall, she's just a wonderful person and I'm happy I found her and look forward to continuing to get the help I need from her.
