About me

Hi there! I'm Ross, and I'm so happy you are making the steps to focus on your mental health. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy should feel like a safe, affirming space where you can be your authentic self without judgement. I specialize in working with young adults, especially those in the LGBTQIA+ community, who may be navigating identity, relationships, anxiety, or life transitions. My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, which means I'll meet you where you are, honor your experiences, and support you in building the confidence and tools you need to thrive. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, identity development, relationships, or navigating life in general I'd be happy to support you and walk with you through that journey. I know it can be overwhelming to start therapy, but you don't have to go through this alone and I'd be honored to support you through those challenging times. Together, we'll focus on your strengths, explore what's meaningful to you, and help you move forward feeling more grounded, empowered, and understood.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my goal is to get to know you and create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and respected. We'll spend time talking about what brought you to therapy, what you'd like to work on, and what feels most important to you right now. I'll also ask some background questions so I can better understand your experiences and how to best support you. The first session is less about "fixing" things right away and more about building a foundation of trust and collaboration. Especially if you are navigating anxiety, identity or life transitions, I want you to know this is a safe and affirming space to show up exactly as you are. Together, we'll set the groundwork for your therapy journey and begin identifying the goals and changes you'd like to see.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is creating a safe, affirming space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood. I bring empathy, authenticity, and curiosity into each session which helps clients feel comfortable sharing their experiences without fear of judgment. I am often told I bring a warm compassionate empathetic space that fosters vulnerability and safety to the therapeutic space. I draw on evidence-based practices while staying flexible to meet each person where they are. Clients often tell me that I help them feel supported while encouraging them to build on their strengths and explore new perspectives. For young adults and LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating anxiety, identity or life transitions, I focus on fostering resilience, self-acceptance, and confidence so they can move forward more grounded and empowered.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are young adults who may be overwhelmed by anxiety, identity questions, or the challenges of navigating life transitions. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ individuals who are seeking a safe, affirming space to explore who they are and what matters most to them. Whether you're coping with stress to anxiety, exploring sexuality or gender, managing self-doubt, or wanting to feel more confident in your daily life, I'm here to support you in building resilience, self-acceptance, and the tools to thrive.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I practice from a person-centered approach, believing that clients are the experts of their own lives. My role is to create a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where individuals feel fully seen and heard. I use empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity to help clients explore their experiences, develop self-awareness, and build resilience. I have particular experience working with young adults navigating identity, relationships, and life transitions, including LGBTQIA+ individuals seeking affirming therapeutic settings and care.

Strength-Based

I believe each client brings unique strengths and resilience into the therapy space. My approach focuses on identifying and building upon these existing strengths to foster growth, confidence, and self-empowerment. I work collaboratively with clients to highlight their capabilities and resources, helping them create solutions that feel achievable and aligned with their values. I found this to be an essential tool in serving LGBTQIA+ individuals navigating identity development, life transitions, and personal challenges.

Humanistic

My approach is grounded in the belief that every individual has an innate capacity for growth and self-discovery. I focus on creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore their emotions, values, and sense of meaning. By emphasizing authenticity, empathy, and personal choice, I help clients strengthen their self-acceptance and move towards living more fully aligned with who they are.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate mindfulness-based practices to help clients cultivate awareness, acceptance, and presence in their daily lives. Through guided exercises and reflective dialogue, I support clients managing stress, reducing anxiety and improving emotional regulation. This approach encourages clients to develop a deeper connection with themselves, fostering resilience and self-compassion.
