About me

You’re used to being the strong one. But who takes care of you? Maybe you’re the person everyone turns to. You show up for your family, keep up with work, take care of everyone else, and somehow manage to keep things moving—even when you’re exhausted. Lately, though, you may not feel like yourself. You might be anxious all the time, overwhelmed by everything on your plate, emotionally drained, struggling with sleep, or finding it harder to enjoy the things you used to. Maybe you’ve been holding it together for so long that you’re not even sure how to slow down anymore. I’m Sarah Langlois, LCSW and Air Force Veteran. I work with adults who are dealing with anxiety, trauma, PTSD, depression, grief, burnout, relationship concerns, chronic stress, and major life changes. I especially enjoy working with people who are used to taking care of everyone else. You don’t have to wait until things feel completely unmanageable to reach out. Sometimes therapy is simply a place to finally have someone listen to you, without judgment, while you figure out what you need. My style is warm, straightforward, and collaborative. We’ll work together to understand what’s going on, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop tools that actually fit your life. I use approaches including CBT, trauma-informed therapy, and strengths-based therapy. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. You just need to be willing to take the first step. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply ready for something to change, I’d be happy to work with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Therapy with me begins exactly where you are- not where you think you should be. You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out for help. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by past experiences, emotionally exhausted, or simply not feeling like yourself anymore, our first session is a place where you can exhale. You'll find a warm, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you can share your story at your own pace, without fear of criticism or pressure. I believe that healing happens through genuine connection. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted while helping you make sense of what you're experiencing. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, identify the underlying causes of your struggles, and develop practical tools that fit your life-not just techniques that sound good in theory. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs. I won't tell you who you should be; instead, I'll help you reconnect with the strengths you already have while building new skills to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence. Whether we're working through anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, relationship challenges, stress, burnout, or major life transitions, we'll focus on creating meaningful and lasting change rather than simply managing symptoms. You don't have to keep carrying the weight of everything on your own. Change is possible, and you deserve support from someone who will walk alongside you every step of the way. If you're ready to feel more like yourself again—to find peace, regain confidence, and build a life that feels more fulfilling- would be honored to be part of your journey. Taking the first step can feel intimidating, but you don't have to do it alone. Reach out today, and let's begin creating the life you deserve.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With over a decade of experience providing therapy to adults, I offer a compassionate, collaborative approach that focuses on meaningful, lasting change. I welcome referrals for individuals seeking a therapist who balances genuine emotional support with practical, evidence-based strategies to help them navigate stress, life transitions, burnout, and emotional overwhelm. While I have extensive experience working with women and veterans, I believe therapy should never be one-size-fits-all. Every client brings their own experiences, strengths, and goals, and I tailor treatment to meet their unique needs while fostering a safe, authentic, and trusting therapeutic relationship. Clients often describe my style as warm, supportive, and direct. I strive to create an environment where people feel heard and accepted while also feeling empowered to challenge old patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and build greater emotional resilience. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, relationship concerns, identity changes, and major life transitions. I have a particular passion for supporting individuals who appear successful and capable on the outside but internally feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or emotionally exhausted from carrying the weight of multiple responsibilities. As an Air Force veteran, I also understand the unique challenges that can accompany military service and the transition to civilian life. Whether clients are coping with hypervigilance, moral injury, identity shifts, relationship difficulties, or a loss of purpose after service, I provide a grounded, nonjudgmental space to process those experiences and move toward healing. My goal is to help clients move beyond simply getting through each day. Together, we work to build insight, strengthen resilience, and create a life that feels more balanced, intentional, and connected to what matters most.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected—even when they’re unsure where to begin. Many clients reach out during periods when life feels heavier than usual, whether due to rising anxiety, emotional burnout, unresolved trauma, depressive symptoms, or major life transitions that have shaken their sense of stability or identity. I also have extensive experience supporting military Veterans as they navigate the emotional, relational, and identity challenges that can arise during or after service, including the transition to civilian life, processing high-stress experiences, and reconnecting with a sense of purpose beyond duty. Clients come to therapy for many different reasons. Some are ready to address long-standing patterns that no longer serve them, such as relationship dynamics, boundary struggles, self-criticism, or coping habits. Others are working to rebuild self-trust and confidence after difficult or discouraging experiences. Many simply arrive exhausted from carrying everything on their own and are seeking a space where they don’t have to be strong, composed, or “hold it together.” My role is to help clients slow down and better understand what’s happening beneath the surface—emotionally, mentally, and relationally. Together, we clarify what they want for their lives, explore the beliefs and patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and create a grounded, realistic path forward that feels both meaningful and achievable. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and practical. Our work blends compassion with clear, evidence-based strategies. We explore personal history and relational patterns, gently challenge unhelpful beliefs, and build effective tools for emotional regulation, stress management, and day-to-day coping that can be sustained outside of session. For Veterans, therapy often includes processing service-related experiences, navigating major transitions, strengthening relationships, and reclaiming identity beyond survival mode or constant responsibility. I approach this work with deep respect for lived experience and care tailored to each individual. Across all of my work, my goal is for clients to feel genuinely seen, supported, and empowered—to have a steady space where they can show up as they are and know that it’s enough. I welcome referrals for adults and Veterans seeking thoughtful, grounded therapy and meaningful change. If you’re ready to take the next step with the right support, you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity, balance, and confidence.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize and build upon their existing abilities, resilience, and personal resources. Rather than focusing solely on challenges or symptoms, we work together to identify your strengths, celebrate your progress, and use those qualities as the foundation for growth and healing. I believe that every person has the capacity to overcome obstacles and create meaningful change. Through a compassionate and collaborative process, we'll explore what has helped you navigate difficult experiences, uncover new sources of strength, and develop practical strategies for moving forward with confidence. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or relationship challenges, my goal is to help you reconnect with your values, build self-confidence, and create lasting change. Together, we'll focus on empowering you to thrive—not just manage life's difficulties—so you can live a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Supportive

I use supportive therapy to help clients navigate life’s challenges by providing a safe, nonjudgmental space to process thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My approach focuses on strengthening coping skills, building resilience, enhancing self-esteem, and helping clients identify their existing strengths and resources. With nearly a decade of experience working with adults, veterans, and women facing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges, I strive to create a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic relationship. Supportive therapy can be especially helpful during periods of stress, uncertainty, grief, or adjustment, offering encouragement while fostering insight, growth, and emotional well-being.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop psychological flexibility, allowing them to respond to life's challenges with greater resilience rather than becoming overwhelmed by difficult thoughts or emotions. ACT focuses on accepting what is outside of your control while taking meaningful action toward the life you want to create. With nearly a decade of experience working with adults, women, and Veterans, I help individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, and mood disorders. Together, we identify the thoughts and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck and learn practical strategies to reduce their impact without avoiding or fighting them. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs. Using mindfulness, values clarification, and evidence-based ACT techniques, I help clients build healthier coping skills, increase self-awareness, and make choices that align with what matters most to them. My goal is to empower you to move forward with greater confidence, purpose, and emotional well-being, even during life's most difficult moments.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to distress. My approach is collaborative, practical, and goal-oriented, helping clients develop skills they can apply in their daily lives. With nearly a decade of experience working with adults, veterans, and women experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and life transitions, I tailor CBT interventions to each client's unique needs and goals. Together, we explore how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors, challenge negative thinking patterns, and build healthier coping strategies. My goal is to empower clients with tools that promote resilience, emotional well-being, and long-term growth both inside and outside of therapy.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients build practical skills for managing overwhelming emotions, improving relationships, and navigating life's challenges with greater confidence. DBT combines acceptance and change strategies to strengthen mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and effective communication. With nearly a decade of experience supporting adults, women, and Veterans, I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and difficulties with emotional regulation. I tailor DBT interventions to each client's unique needs, creating a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where growth can occur. Together, we focus on increasing self-awareness, responding to difficult situations more effectively, and developing healthy coping strategies that align with your personal values and goals. My aim is to help you build resilience, strengthen your relationships, and create lasting emotional well-being so you can feel more confident and in control of your life.

Unfortunately, Sarah wasn't very helpful. She actually blamed me for the sound quality of our session. I went to therapy to find a helpful listening ear. I did not find that with Sarah!!
