Jose Luis Orozco
Hi, I’m Jose Luis Orozco, Jr., a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and build on their strengths. Grounded in my background across education, counseling, and community work, I bring a compassionate, culturally responsive, and client-centered approach to therapy.
Whether you’re facing stress, life transitions, or deeper emotional struggles, my goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can feel heard, valued, and empowered to grow.
Whether you’re dealing with daily stress, major life transitions, or deeper emotional struggles, my goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel genuinely heard, valued, and empowered to heal and grow.
First session
Your first session is all about getting to know you, your story, your goals, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk through what you’re hoping to achieve, and I’ll ask a few questions to better understand your background and current challenges. This is also your time to ask me anything, share any concerns, and set a pace that feels right for you. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment free space where you feel safe, respected, and supported from day one. There’s no pressure, just a comfortable starting point on your journey toward healing and growth.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with clients in a genuine, compassionate, and culturally attuned way. Drawing from my background in education, counseling, and community leadership, I view clients through a complete lens, understanding you not just as an individual, but within the context of your family, culture, and community. Being bilingual and bi-cultural allows me to provide therapy seamlessly in both English and Spanish, honoring the nuances of navigating multiple cultural identities. My approach is collaborative and adaptable. While I utilize evidence based frameworks like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and trauma informed care, I always tailor our work to fit your specific goals. I’m here to listen, support, and thoughtfully challenge you to help you heal, grow, and thrive.
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals and families who are ready for meaningful change and seeking a safe, supportive space to figure things out. Many of my clients are navigating stress, anxiety, major life transitions, family dynamics, or identity questions. I’m especially passionate about supporting the Latino/a/e community and first-generation individuals who often feel caught between different cultures, generations, or expectations. Whether you're working through a specific crisis or simply feeling stuck, my goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths and move forward with clarity and selfcompassion.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As a School counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor I have utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to helps clients understand how our thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. If we learn to change unhelpful thoughts, we can feel better and make healthier choices.
