New to Grow
I suffer from PTSD and my journey into therapy began with years of denial. As all heroes do I refused the call. Then I started helping others - the immigrant, the unhoused, the addicted - and I saw the beauty of human resilience. I discovered the capacity for compassion, healing, and evolution in others as well as myself. I fully believe therapy has the power to not only help people survive but to thrive.
At your first session I hope to be able to show you that our time together will be comfortable, safe, and fun. You'll have a chance to share what brings you to therapy, what you know about therapy, and your personal feelings toward therapy. You'll have a chance to ask questions, dispel nerves, and solidify that I am the right guide for your adventure.
My approach is to put myself out of a job. I fully believe you are your own best therapist, best friend, best champion. With time I hope you come to see yourself as the expert of your life.
I work with young adults and adults struggling with life transitions, positive self-esteem, or trauma which can lead to symptoms of anxiety, depression or PTSD. We will work on identifying symptoms in your daily life, recognizing situations that may catalyze symptom expression and coping skills to soothe distress. Ultimately, my aim is to help you create a map toward your goals that feels personal, empowering and attainable.
