Veterans and adults facing life altering internal struggles.... you're here to find solutions. You’re here because something in your life feels heavy, confusing, or out of control and you’re ready for things to change. Whether it’s trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, poor anger skills, stress, overthinking, low confidence, or a mix of all of them, you don’t have to keep carrying this burden alone. These issues are common, but they’re also beatable when you have the right support and a clear plan forward. I’ve worked with thousands of clients who felt stuck in self‑defeating beliefs, guilt, shame, or old patterns that drained the joy out of life. What I’ve learned is simple: when you reconnect with Hope, Purpose, and the strengths you’ve forgotten you have, things start to shift fast. You’re not broken; you’re overwhelmed. And overwhelmed people need support, not judgment. I’m here to listen without judgment, help you make sense of what you’re facing, and guide you toward healthier perspectives that actually work in real life. I’m Christian‑friendly for clients who want it, and fully comfortable with secular therapy for those who don’t. My job is to meet you where you are, not push you into a box. I’m also a huge Ohio State Buckeyes fan. I’ll gladly work with Michigan fans too… but I can’t promise the same level of nonjudgmental neutrality I offer everyone else. :) And if you’re into grilling, I might even share a few Blackstone secrets along the way. Therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff — we can be real humans in the room together.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I want to spend some time building rapport. BUT I also want to dive into your hopes about treatment and give you tools to start moving forward. I guarantee you have some strengths you have overlooked. Maybe your perspectives are a little off target. Maybe you've believed someone else's lies about you. Maybe you've believed your own lies about you. I'm most interested in how you think and the amount of EFFORT you are willing to apply to improve your life. You set the pace. I’ll never push you faster than you’re ready to go.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My strength is listening. Numerous times in the past I've been told some variation of "Thank you so much for helping me through this." In those instances, I remember thinking, "I barely talked." This taught me that a few well-placed open-ended questions with a client who is motivated to change results in the client talking themselves through their problems. I just happened to be in the room. This is how Carl Rogers believed the therapeutic process should work. I agree with him.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, anger, addiction, grief, trauma, adult ADHD, relationship struggles, and low self‑esteem. As a veteran, I have a special place in my heart for working with other veterans who feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or stuck in survival mode. My goal is simple: help you challenge unhelpful thoughts, build healthier habits, and regain control of your life.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

With Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy, we’ll focus on your future hopes and past successes — not just the problems. You have strengths you may not even realize yet. As you start believing in what’s possible, the past loses its grip. We’ll process what needs processing, but we won’t live there. Your energy belongs in the future you’re building.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, we’ll examine the thoughts that shape your emotions and behaviors. The beliefs you’ve carried, whether planted by others or by your own inner critic, feel true until you put them on trial. When you challenge them with questions, logic, and facts, everything begins to shift.

Motivational Interviewing

If you’re ready to feel lighter, clearer, and more in control, I’d be honored to walk with you through this by asking some questions to challenge your perspectives. I'm talking about light bulb over your head questions that really make you think as you answer. Questions change everything. Let’s get started.

I strolled through a lot of counselors and I took on a few but Billy' understands me. He's more my age bracket and understands my sense of humor. He's not judgmental nor does he play he has all the answers. That makes me comfortable he allows you to see that he's human. He doesn't make it feel like you're talking to a counselor he makes it like you're talking to a friend that only wants to see the best for you. He's helping me with the life turn around and I appreciate that.

Billy met me with patience, understanding, and a genuine willingness to listen. There was no judgment, only a safe space where I could speak honestly about what I’m carrying. He didn’t just hear me; he helped me see clearly. He left me with vital wisdom and practical truth I can apply right now, truth that challenges me to grow as a man, to lead my home better as a husband and father, and to walk more faithfully as a man of God. Thanks Billy.
