Serena Samaniego
As an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe connection, hope, and resilience are the cornerstones for healing. I specializes in working with individuals, families, and couples who have experienced challenges related to attachment, relationships, and trauma. I believe in empowering others to be their own experts so they can reconnect with their most authentic selves. I do this by bringing together best practices and individualized approaches that incorporate my training in trauma, neurodevelopment, and relationships. We heal through more than just talking, therefore, I enjoy incorporating play, creative, and somatic practices into each session.
I provide a safe and compassionate space for you and your family to courageously grow toward deeper, more meaningful connections.
Strengths
At every stage of life, you deserve to be seen, heard, and understood. I provide a safe and compassionate space for you, your children, and your family to courageously grow toward deeper, more meaningful connections. During our initial session, I’ll be curious to learn about your story as we begin exploring achievable and solution-focused goals. I like creating collaborative sessions that focus on sustainable change
Ideal clients
My ideal client is ready to build a closer relationship with themselves and others around them. They are willing to set goals for themselves between sessions and eager to work collaboratively with me toward meeting those goals . My ideal client wants to embrace their most authentic selves and is willing to take a deeper look at the experiences and patterns that have shaped them and their relationships.
Treatment methods
Trauma-Informed Care
By maintaining a trauma informed lens, I am able to empower client to recognize how past experiences have impacted them and encourage resilience and healing. Trauma informed care also mean I actively work to prevent re-traumatization by practicing cultural humility and honoring each person's lived experience.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients notice helpful and unhelpful patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Attachment-based
My approach incorporates attachment as a part of how we relate and build relationships with others. By helping clients and families understand the influence of their attachment patterns, clients can identify opportunities to strengthen their relationships.
