(he/him)
I am a fully licensed clinical social worker with nearly 10 years of experience in the field. I am currently licensed in two states. My experience varies from therapeutic mentor, supervisor for other LCSW, and one on one with persons served as a therapist/clinician. My approach is strength-based and person-centered. I work with ages from 6 and up with a focus on adolescents, teens, and adults.
Clients can expect to take away a stronger sense of self-care and motivation throughout treatment. As a strength-based, solution-focused, and person-centered approach, the client is in control of their experience and their outcomes. The use of CBT and mindfulness enhances the strength-based approach while still giving the client a sense of self-involvement and worth.
My strength resides in my experience as a therapist, but also life experiences. I have worked with individuals of all age ranges in a variety of settings. The services I have provided range from being a certified teacher to working with foster care children to working with veterans and couples. I use a strength-based approach because I believe the client should be in charge of the sessions, the goals, and the direction therapy takes them. I use techniques customized to the client. Through these methods, I strive for a sense of comfort and trust between clinician and client.
Starting anything can be daunting. I am here to assist you in feeling more confident and comfortable with the process. Together, we can identify obtainable goals and work toward them. The ideal client is one who has goals in mind with the resolve to work toward those goals in a comfortable and accepting environment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I base sessions on how thoughts and feelings can have a relationship connection to behaviors. I base CBT on the premise that negative thought patterns can lead to emotional distress and maladaptive behaviors.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use the idea of being in the here and now, rather than dwelling on the past or worrying about the future. This can be very effective when working with clients who have depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
Strength-Based
By focusing on a client's strengths, resources, and resilience, a strength-based approach puts the client in control of their sessions and their goals.

Mr. Holmes is a great listener, and has provided me with some great tools and resources to help me manage my life situations better.

Even though my first session was a brief 30 minute "intake session," Robert provided me with specific strategies which align with my goals. I was expecting an impersonal "questionnaire" style appointment. I was pleasantly surprised to come away from my first session with some very useful information.

I enjoyed the session. We got to know each other briefly and Robert gave me some good advice right away. Will be back for follow ups.
