I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over nine years of experience supporting individuals and families in social work and behavioral health settings, including three years providing direct therapy services. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse populations facing a variety of challenges, which has strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate, trauma-informed, and person-centered care. I am passionate about guiding individuals through life's challenges while fostering self-esteem, confidence, and a deep sense of worthiness, wholeness, and belonging. I believe meaningful change begins with a strong therapeutic relationship, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space grounded in authenticity, empathy, cultural humility, and collaboration. My approach is attentive, honest, and tailored to the unique needs and goals of each person I serve. My goal is to collaborate with those I serve to build insight, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change so they can live more fulfilling and purposeful lives. Together, we will navigate challenges, identify strengths, and develop practical tools that support growth and well-being. Outside of my professional life, family is at the heart of who I am. I am the proud parent of seven children—three biological, two fostered, and two adopted. With my youngest recently turning 18, I am embracing an exciting new chapter of life. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors at the lake, beach, or mountains, hiking, picnicking, and appreciating the peace that nature provides. My greatest joy is spending time with family and friends, especially my grandchildren. I believe healing happens through connection, compassion, and courage, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you navigate your journey toward greater wellness, growth, and fulfillment.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and supportive space where you can share your story at a pace that feels right for you. This first meeting is an opportunity to begin building a strong therapeutic relationship so you feel safe, heard, respected, and supported as we begin your journey toward growth and healing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a therapist include my ability to build authentic therapeutic relationships, create emotional safety, and foster trust through empathy, cultural humility, and genuine collaboration. I bring a trauma-informed perspective that supports individuals as they navigate difficult experiences and life challenges. I balance compassion with accountability, collaborating with those I serve to identify strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change. My diverse clinical experience allows me to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences while tailoring therapy to their unique needs, goals, and values.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am passionate about working with adults who are ready to begin, continue, or deepen their healing journey. Many of the individuals I serve have experienced trauma, domestic violence, PTSD, difficult relationships, or life circumstances that have impacted their sense of safety, self-worth, and connection to others. In my experience, trauma often exists beneath or alongside challenges such as anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Because of this, I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens that recognizes the profound impact past experiences can have on emotional well-being, relationships, and daily functioning. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space where individuals can explore their experiences, build insight, and reconnect with their strengths. I am committed to helping those I serve develop positive self-esteem, confidence, and a deeper sense of worthiness, wholeness, and belonging. Together, we will navigate challenges, strengthen resilience, and develop practical tools that support healing, growth, and lasting change. I believe that healing is possible and that every person has the capacity to create a meaningful life aligned with their values, purpose, and authentic self. My role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, support, and evidence-based strategies as you move toward greater wellness, empowerment, and fulfillment.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have experience working with adults who have experienced a wide range of traumatic events and circumstances. This includes severe trauma resulting from deeply shocking or life-threatening experiences such as domestic violence, sexual assault, military combat, serious accidents, natural disasters, and other events that can create intense feelings of fear, helplessness, terror, or loss of safety. I also work with individuals impacted by cumulative or ongoing trauma, sometimes referred to as "little t" trauma, including childhood abuse or neglect, bullying, emotional abuse, divorce, financial hardship, chronic stress, job loss, and other experiences that may overwhelm a person's ability to cope over time. Additionally, I recognize the impact of secondary trauma, which can occur when supporting or caring for a loved one who has experienced trauma. My approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and collaborative, incorporating Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TI-CBT) and other evidence-based interventions tailored to each individual's unique needs and experiences. I understand that trauma can contribute to symptoms of PTSD, complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance use, relationship difficulties, and challenges with self-esteem and emotional regulation. Through a trauma-informed CBT approach, individuals can develop a greater understanding of how traumatic experiences influence thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships while learning practical skills to manage distress and foster resilience. Treatment focuses on creating emotional safety, building coping skills, increasing self-awareness, challenging unhelpful thought patterns, and processing traumatic experiences at a pace that feels manageable and empowering. My goal is to provide a supportive environment where individuals can gain insight into the effects of trauma, reconnect with their strengths, and move toward healing, growth, and improved well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have experience working with individuals who have experienced or are currently navigating depression, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), insomnia, stress-related conditions, and substance use challenges. Using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, I collaborate with those I serve to identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthy coping strategies, and build practical skills that can be applied in everyday life. My approach is supportive, goal-oriented, and tailored to each individual's unique needs, helping them manage symptoms, overcome obstacles, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful, lasting positive change.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

My experience utilizing Solution-Focused Therapy includes working with individuals experiencing relationship challenges, family dysfunction, life transitions, stress, and personal growth concerns. This strengths-based, goal-oriented approach helps individuals identify what is working well, clarify their goals, and build upon existing strengths and resources to create meaningful change. Rather than focusing extensively on problems, Solution-Focused Therapy emphasizes practical solutions, achievable steps, and the possibilities for a preferred future. I often incorporate Solution-Focused Therapy as a complementary approach alongside other evidence-based approaches, particularly when supporting individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. By helping individuals recognize their resilience, past successes, and existing capabilities, this approach can foster hope, increase motivation, and support progress toward meaningful goals. Through a collaborative process, individuals develop practical strategies that promote confidence, empowerment, and lasting positive change.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

My experience utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) includes supporting individuals in developing skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. This evidence-based approach provides practical strategies that help individuals manage intense emotions, navigate challenging situations, improve communication, and build healthier relationships. DBT has been shown to be effective in treating borderline personality disorder (BPD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, substance use challenges, and difficulties related to emotional dysregulation. I often incorporate DBT as a complementary approach alongside other evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The skills-based nature of DBT can enhance treatment by helping individuals strengthen coping abilities, increase emotional awareness, tolerate distress more effectively, and apply practical tools in everyday life. Through a collaborative process, individuals learn strategies that support greater emotional balance, resilience, and overall well-being.

Feminist

My experience utilizing Feminist Therapy includes supporting individuals in exploring how social, cultural, relational, and systemic influences have shaped their experiences, beliefs, relationships, and sense of self. This approach is particularly beneficial for those who have experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse, incest, emotional abuse, coercive control, gender-based discrimination, gender dysphoria, relationship challenges, and issues related to power, oppression, and inequality. Feminist Therapy recognizes the impact that societal expectations and unequal power dynamics can have on emotional well-being and personal identity. My approach emphasizes empowerment, collaboration, validation, and self-determination. Together, we examine patterns that may contribute to distress, challenge limiting beliefs, identify strengths, and foster greater agency and self-advocacy. I often incorporate Feminist Therapy as a complementary approach alongside other evidence-based interventions to support healing, resilience, healthy boundaries, and a stronger sense of worth, voice, and personal empowerment.
