I have experience working with families, groups, and individuals within a foresnic setting, hospital setting, ambulatory setting, practice setting, residential treatment setting, and home setting. I love nature, my family/friends, my doggies, my fish, and all natures' creatures including spiders which I am afraid of. My favorite hobbies are bikram yoga, kayaking, tubing, cliff jumping, boating, car racing, motorcycle riding, and traveling. I work with individuals as young as 6 years old who are having difficulty with attention deficit to the elderly who are having difficulty coping with the challenges of aging.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions then discuss the specific challenges you are facing. This will help me understand your treatment goals and develop a tailored treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Being a holistic practioner provides my clients with focus on achieving a sense of wholeness, a balance in life. I help my clients understand the connection between their emotional health, mental health, physical health, and spiritual health while reminding them of their many strengths and qualities.
I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 18 years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
I am a holistic practioner. I focus on a person's whole being (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual self) to achieve balance therefore I use a variety of therapy techniques as they fit a person's treatment needs. Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Psychodynamic Therapy, Supportive Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care Therapy are some of the most common modalities I use in my practice.
