Hi! In my work over the years, I have had the pleasure to see my clients succeed at life! I am compassionate, non-judgmental, and we will meet wherever you are and take you wherever you want to go. I look forward to working with you! Specializations Addiction and/or Substance Use Concerns, Anger Management, Anxiety, Couples Counseling, Depression, Family Therapy, Grief, Health Psychology, Parenting Issues, Relationship Issues, Sleep Health, Women's Health. In our sessions, you can see into my home, and it is as if you are right there with me. No filters, no staring at a wall behind me. You will be inside of my home office as if it were in person. At our sessions I take notes that I give to you at the end of our sessions, so you have have something tangible to take with you, as well as links to resources such as podcasts, books, take home exercises (never mandatory though!) to help you progress in between sessions to make our time together more valuable. I used to be in direct service many years ago and then moved into training EAP providers and offering trainings for Mental Health providers to maintain their licenses, but during the, "Great Hiatus," I saw that people needed help. So I came back to be in the trenches. You are in good hands! I am also a student of positive psychology, but I have the ability to empathize deeply and really be right there with you. Almost all of my clients have experienced breakthroughs and by the end of our time together are enjoying their lives again and feeling competent to problem solve and develop coping tools, and resiliency.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

We will talk about the process, I will tell you a little about myself and my approach, and then I will listen to what it is that you are wanting out of counseling. From our first session, we begin to develop a plan to help you relieve some of the pressures in your life so that you can gain the headspace you need to start working through what brought you to me in the first place. We will be connecting on a very real level and I will earn your trust and respect.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Being able to connect, build a good working relationship with you, providing you with immediately actionable tools. I don't just sit by and listen. I get involved because of how passionate I am for everyone to be well. Mental Health is a human right!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. My doctorate studies and my work as an expert in the field and as a trainer of mental health professionals gives me the ability to provide evidence based solutions to your concerns. As a Substance Abuse Professional my skills for substance use disorders will serve my clients. My work with couples is some of my best work as well, using the most up to date science to help you in your life. Parents looking for help with their children or for their children will also find the help that they are looking for as a mom myself of three children.

Aristea is a wonderful therapist who is supportive but also direct. In the past, other therapists did not offer helpful solutions to my problems & too much time was spent on tangential conversation. I feel like I can be vulnerable with Aristea, but that she makes the most of our time, gives homework, isn't afraid to ask hard questions. She is solution-driven and has already been helpful for addressing underlying issues in my myself and marriage.

I have worked with Aristea for almost two years, and she has brought so much compassion to our sessions. Her approach to therapy is open-minded and holistic. I especially am grateful for the tools and skills that we have worked on around managing corporate environments and career transitions. I feel safe to be vulnerable and open with Aristea, she has empowered me to feel capable of handling the challenges that come with life.
