My name is Marc Antonio. I'm an LMFT based in Fresno, California who sees clients throughout the state via telehealth. I work with young adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and attachment using a combination of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and sensorimotor psychotherapy (SP) to help my clients work toward their goals and create a life worth living. I work well with young adults who are trying to find themselves, heal old wounds, and live their most authentic life.

First session

My communication style can be a combination of warm and reciprocal but I don't mind leaning into "real talk" when needed. I do my best to match my client's language and do my best to translate my therapy-speak into things that they can understand, absorb, and adapt to their everyday lives.

Strengths

I take a collaborative approach to goal setting that starts with trust, comfort, and consent. I provide a non-judgmental space to earn trust, build comfort, and check in to make sure you feel heard.

Ideal clients

I have a soft spot in my heart for those who are along the nerdy/geeky spectrum, have a love for pop culture, sci-fi, and fantasy, and who survived bullying by family or peers. I like to help clients turn those things that were used to set them apart and develop them into awesome strengths and resources.

Treatment methods

EMDR

I am EMDRIA certified and also an EMDRIA approved consultant. I use EMDR to help clients process trauma, anxiety, attachment wounds.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been practicing DBT since 2019 after joining a community mental health DBT team in 2019. I was officially trained in DBT via psychwire/behavioral tech in 2021. DBT has helped clients understand links between stressor and reaction. It can also provide emotional stability to prepare for trauma processing.

Somatic

I trained in sensorimotor psychotherapy level 1 & 2. Trauma can be stored in the body as automatic reactions, somatic interventions helps us with releasing/processing trauma as well as enhancing resources and grounding.
