As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), I specialize in supporting first-generation individuals and those who have experienced trauma, postpartum, anxiety, depression, and family challenges. My therapeutic approach integrates client-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and somatic work to offer a holistic and personalized treatment plan that addresses both the mind and body. I deeply value creating a safe, collaborative, and empathetic space where clients feel heard and supported. My goal is to help clients process past experiences, gain self-acceptance, and build empowerment and confidence. I believe that therapy is a partnership, and I work closely with clients to explore their feelings, foster self-awareness, and help them develop the tools to thrive in their relationships—with themselves, their families, and their partners. Over the past 6 years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals of all ages, with a particular focus on first-generation immigrants. I offer services in both English and Spanish and find great fulfillment in helping clients navigate the unique pressures and challenges that come with balancing multiple cultural identities.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions and begin diving into specific challenges you're facing and seek to work through.
I utilize a customized blend of modalities including Cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, and strength-based therapy to maximize the benefits of therapy and customize treatment for each individual client. I have also completed training in Emotion-Focused therapy and perinatal mental health to better serve individual clients and clients who are pregnant and postpartum.
I truly believe in the power of honesty and vulnerability in therapy. These qualities create the foundation for growth, healing, and lasting change. I am committed to walking alongside you in your journey toward emotional well-being and personal empowerment.
I am particularly passionate about working with adults, especially those who are the oldest sibling or first-generation children. As a first-generation Latina and the oldest daughter myself, I have firsthand experience with the challenges of boundary-setting, self-acceptance, and navigating the complexities of cultural expectations. This personal experience informs my work, as I understand the importance of fostering self-love, resilience, and a strong sense of self in the face of these challenges.

I have been working with Anahi for a few months now and I feel like i'm making the most progress I've ever made with a therapist. I feel like I can talk freely without fear of judgement. Anahi also asks me personalized questions that allow me to understand myself better and she provides insightful perspectives that make me feel seen and empowered to continue to grow. Highly recommend.
