Therapy is a journey, and as your therapist, I step into the role of being your journeyman walking alongside you as we navigate the path together. We’ll take time to explore your life experiences and the challenges that brought you here, working in a way that honors your unique perspective and language. I aim to create a safe, collaborative space free from judgment or bias, where you can feel supported and truly understood. As your journeyman, I’m here to help you develop the skills and utilize the tools you need to manage life’s stressors in healthier, more fulfilling ways. Together, we’ll move toward clarity, growth, and balance.
In our first session, we will get to know each other. Part of our session is spent in a formal intake going over basic information that will help us understand your current experiences. The other part of our session is spent exploring the presenting challenges and navigating potential goals, strengths, and next steps in therapy together.
I approach treatment with a level of reverence and respect for each person that I get to meet in this space. You can expect my approach to be affirming, and a balance of softness and direct feedback. I utilize a mix of evidence-based approaches to help you get the help you desire. I believe one of my strengths lies in my ability to tailor the care I offer to your unique needs.
Clinically I work particularly well with mild to moderate mental health issues including: anxiety, depression, family stress, parenting stress, relational issues, work stress, academic challenges, ADHD, and men’s issues.

Narrative
Everyone has a story worth telling. I primarily utilize narrative therapy to explore elements of your story that impact your daily life and help re-author aspects of your story that you may want to change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
When using CBT we get a unique opportunity to explore your beliefs and thoughts on how you experience your world. I value your perspective and your expertise on your thoughts and behaviors and with CBT and walk alongside you as we explore thoughts and behaviors that influence your functioning in any situation.
Family Therapy
As a systems-based family therapist, i engage in the whole family and utilize a collaborative post-modern approach to explore how families can increase connection, decrease dysfunction, and create new meanings within their systems. This treatment differs from couples therapy due to it's focus on the family unit as a whole.

’m new to therapy, and Shaun has made the process comfortable and easy to open up. He offers great insight and helps me see things from a new perspective. After just a few sessions, I feel stronger and more confident in overcoming challenges that have weighed on me for years. Shaun creates a safe, supportive space that truly encourages healing and personal growth.

Shaon ask me questions that make me think about the situations I present to him in ways I may not have thought of, while also presenting questions that make me think of why I may have taken whatever course of action I took all in the same sequence. It has helped me to navigate different feelings I’ve had about what I’m dealing with and to find different solutions as to how to use my new found time. Although I’m not completely over how I feel, his sessions have helped me to progress tremendously.

This was our first session, so I can’t judge much, but I got a great vibe from our discussion and I feel as if he has a well of knowledge that would be helpful for helping me in my situation.
