Hello, I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) based in Cincinnati, Ohio. I received my Master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and have over 20 years of experience in social work. I have spent 10 years working with teens and young adults experiencing mental health challenges and 11 years providing medical social work to adults and seniors with both mental health and medical diagnoses. I work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and self-care, with the goal of helping improve overall quality of life. I take a holistic approach to therapy while utilizing evidence-based modalities and integrating the mind, body, and spirit into your healing journey. I believe that wellness involves caring for the whole person, and I enjoy incorporating healthy lifestyle practices such as mindfulness, movement, spending time outdoors, and self-care as part of the healing process.
In the first session, we will work on getting to know each other, things you are struggling with, and possible solutions to help with getting closer to and even achieving your desired outcomes. We will develop an agreed upon treatment plan to follow for upcoming sessions.
One of the strengths I bring to therapy is my experience working with people facing both mental and physical health challenges. This has given me a deeper understanding of how closely the mind and body are connected and how one can impact the other. Because of this, I like to take a mind-body approach to the healing journey. I understand that therapy is one part of wellness, and that making healthy lifestyle changes can also support your mental health and emotional well-being. I like to look at the whole person and consider the different areas of your life that may be affecting how you feel.
I strive to create a comfortable, non-judgmental environment to assist clients with improving their mental health. My clients often suffer from anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, stress, PTSD, and ADHD. They are interested in and appreciate my holistic approaches of involving lifestyle change strategies that have been proven to improve both mental and physical health outcomes. My clients want to thrive and become their best selves by working on improving mentally, emotionally, and physically. Counseling is a huge step toward improving your quality of life so that you can live a life that you love and are proud of. If that is your goal, I am here to assist you through your healing journey.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will be used to identify negative thinking and behavioral patterns that have a negative impact on your life. The therapist will use strategies to transform those thinking and behavioral patterns into more constructive ones. This treatment is very effective for various mental health and emotional issues.
Acceptance and Commitment therapy will be used to help individuals embrace difficult thought and emotions rather than fighting them. The therapist will use strategies to help align values with actions in spite of the difficult thoughts and emotions to help clients improve their quality of life regardless of life challenges.
Practicing mindfulness enables an individual to focus on living in the present moment, rather than the worries of the future or even the past. It helps ease an overactive nervous system (anxiety, inability to focus, heart palpitations, sweating, insomnia, etc). We will practice mindfulness so that you can better manage your life's stressors and improve overall quality of life.
