I am a licensed professional counselor with a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with experience working on a multitude of concerns including trauma, anxiety, depression, parenting, and couples counseling. I believe in creating a strong, trusting therapeutic environment where people feel comfortable, motivated, and not judged. I use solution-focused techniques to assist in reaching goals and CBT techniques to help with concerns such as negative thought patterns. Every person is different, and you will have your own individualized therapy and plan that is tailored to your needs. I really enjoy helping others explore their own strengths, and I understand that sometimes it can be hard to put things into perspective. Sometimes that outside, non-judgmental assistance is what someone needs to get back on track or on a better track.
During our first session, we will start by an intake assessment. We will also address concerns and see what treatment best fits you.
My greatest strengths as a provider is that I really enjoy working with clients and make sure that I am working with them, as well as challenging them to be their best self!
I love working with a variety of clients that are feeling stuck in the situation or thought processes that are swimming around in their brain. I want to help people find a better way to cope and focus their energy somewhere other than the negative thoughts.

I studied CBT in graduate school and then after graduate school, I studied for an additional year with CBT through the Beck Institute. I believe that helping clients with the intrusive or distorted thoughts will influence the behaviors and feelings to feel better for them.
Trauma-Focused CBT
During my work at a non-profit organization, I was trained and studied Trauma focused CBT for 2 years and have been treating trauma since. I use it for evaluations and for addressing any childhood or recent trauma that is getting in the way of a client reaching their goals.

Jennifer was great at getting us to engage and articulate challenges we have not been able to talk openly about. She was supportive and empathetic, and gave us action items to work on outside of our sessions. I look forward to continuing sessions with her.

Jennifer is an empathetic listener but also adept at finding coping methods that work with different personalities and issues. At the end of the session things feel more manageable and less overwhelming, one step at a time.
