Here is a brief video introduction. (You may need to copy and paste the link to open) ....................... https://youtu.be/YQ3-N6EXH-Y ....................................... I have actively worked with hard cases that require a very structured approach to counseling to improve conflict management, behavior change, and better emotional attunement. I am a very active listener and I really try to get to the heart of the matter. Our first session may feel very business oriented, but we really need to cover a lot in the first session. The first session will always have these parts to the session: 1) A BRIEF summary of what is going on now. 2) A list of about 10 questions that we need to ask 3) A description of how I do therapy and how I do my practice- 4) How do you want to do it- Fix the surface topic or rebuild the foundation?
My experience working with families in crisis and serious difficulties has afforded many insights and references to support our work. We will always have homework every week and maybe even a book to read that will help give us things to consider. ........................................................ You will know in about 2 months the trajectory of your relationship. As I might explain in person, this does not mean that everything will be fixed in 2 months, just that you will know if your trust of your partner has improved (or not) in two months. The things that we do in session will show you the quality of the relationship... (If you are still arguing, still dealing with distrustful actions, your anxiety is still high, etc...) ... I tell this to you to be ready and mindful. ......................................................... If there has been serious breaches in trust, we will often set up a "Probation Plan" to help rebuild trust and demonstrate growth in character. This will be an organized list of expectations and accountability actions necessary for rebuilding the relationship. For the "Hurt Individual" we will also create a clear plan to develop forgiveness, rebuild capability to trust, and enable to move on in a healthy way.

In looking for a therapist that shared my faith, he fit the bill. I chose him because he can help me make a plan for how to put my life back together after dealing with my struggles with lying to keep people pleasing and avoid conflict, and how that affected my marriage and destroyed the trust my wife had in me.

I like how he was direct and solution oriented. He also told me things I haven't heard before from other providers. Overall, I like his approach to therapy.
