Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in DC and Maryland. I received my training from the University of Pennsylvania and have been practicing for 6 years affording me the privilege of working with brave individuals like yourself. In our world, we constantly interact with others, yet let's be honest, relationshipping in any capacity is one of the toughest jobs. I am passionate about helping individuals identify barriers, look inward, and develop skills to promote healthier, workable relationships. Together, we can do the work so that you can replace things like regret, anxiety, circular conversations, and hopelessness. Instead, you will be equipped with the tools to not only improve how you interact with others, but also how you manage and love yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will explain confidentiality and my commitment to honoring the therapeutic relationship. You will share some of your present challenges, pertinent historical information, and goals for therapy . This will support me in creating a tailored plan to assist you achieving the goals we’ve identified together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, I am personable and honest , ensuring that you will walk away with clinical insights that will not only validate and affirm you but challenge behaviors and mindsets that have not served you or your relationships.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my 6 years of practice, I have seen the intersectionality of thoughts, emotions and behaviors. With a CBT approach, my aim is to support you in acknowledging negative patterns of thoughts that promote harmful behaviors and leave you feeling down, worried and unhappy with yourself. By challenging mindsets and setting goals toward healthier behaviors, we can work together to break cyclical thought patterns and allow yourself to achieve the mental health that you deserve.

Psychodynamic

This approach is foundational in my practice as I lean into the experiences of my clients throughout their childhood and life that consciously or subconsciously influence feelings and behaviors. I have supported clients in understanding themselves deeper and arriving at those “ aha” moments through connection and reflection into their early years. Ultimately, many feel validated once they see how their past has informed their present.

Family Therapy

Having graduated from U Penn’s School & Mental Health counseling program, I began my career in a school setting. It was this commutity that exposed me to Family Therapy and taught me how crucial it was in ensuring positive change for my clients. What I learned is that individual growth was not enough when the entire family has experienced collective traumas, changes, and pain. Inevitably, all members within the family have been impacted in my experience thus my passion to serve families whether that means seeing individual members separately or jointly.
