I became a Therapist because I wanted to help individuals who need healing from the emotional pain of their past. Unresolved emotional pain is one of the leading causes of life dissatisfaction and can cause impaired judgement, health issues, dysfunctional relationships, health problems, and career stagnation. The purpose of my practice is to help my clients take the first step to healing emotional pain, by learning how to offer grace to themself and to others. During our time in therapy, we will develop a healing plan to transform your breakdown into a breakthrough.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, you can expect for us to discuss the reason that you decided to start counseling. My first goal in counseling is to build rapport with my clients so that they feel comfortable with me as their Therapist. I will answer any questions you may have about my therapeutic process and what you will gain from your time in counseling. We will also begin an Initial Assessment where I will ask you questions about your history, so that I can have some background information about you which will help me gain some insight on how to best serve you as your Therapist. This assessment may take 1-3 sessions, depending on your comfort level with sharing your history with me.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I have 22 years of experience working with adults, families, children, women, substance abusers, and offenders in the community. Along with my LCSW, I am also a certified Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), and Clinical Supervisor (CCS).
