I’m Ligia, a BIPOC & LGBTQ+ affirming therapist. Specializing in BIPOC adults who struggle with identity formation & navigating feelings around guilt and shame. My role is walking with you through this process; not ahead or behind. To help you live a life as who you want to be and not told to be. Building your self-confidence, self-compassion, and self-awareness.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Within the intake session, we tap into your primary concerns and your history that are vital for me to understand your reason for coming into therapy. We will work on developing rapport, finding out if we are good fit with one another, collaborate on treatment goals, and set the stage for therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have created an inclusive private practice for first-generation BIPOC adults who struggle to feel safe as they are seen and have never been taught how to navigate their internal emotional world. Those who are facing inner conflicts and feelings that they do not understand. Faced with indecisiveness daily; not knowing what you want because of not being attuned to who you are. Finding a balance for yourself in different facets of your life, and moving past feelings of guilt and shame towards a person who can feel peace and confidence.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Through increasing a client's understanding in the connection between how past experiences have shaped how they interact with others, allows for growth towards a healthier relationship within themselves and in familial relationships, friendships, and romantic relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Through increasing a client's understanding in the connection between how anxiety and negative beliefs surfaces in different areas of their life, allows us to work together in therapy to work through these different beliefs, understand them, and move towards tools to gain control over them.
