I am licensed in Texas with 12 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with ADHD, stress and anxiety, relationship issues, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, & coping with life changes. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the initial session, I strive to help each client feel seen, heard and understood. Clients need to feel a sense of support and to know that they are not alone in their journey. In order to help new clients understand how the theraputic process works and identify both short and long term goals and objectives, I conduct a thorough assessment to understand the client's history, current symptoms, and specific challenges. This involves gathering information through interviews, questionnaires, and sometimes theraputic self-expression techniques if needed. Together with the client, we establish clear, realistic, and achievable goals. These goals guide the therapy process and provide a roadmap for our work together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as a one size fits all approach. I am a strong advocate for ADHD with a belief that everyone has a unique brain therefore different abilities, skills and needs. Through a strengths-based and person-centered approach, I support clients in developing self-awareness, coping skills, self-compassion, and resilience. I am creative, energetic and engage each client with a personalized approach that offers a unique perspective that resonates with clients seeking support and understanding and approach therapy with a deep sense of empathy, compassion, and acceptance. I understand the challenges and triumphs that come with the ADHD mind, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of being misunderstood.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I have found it to be particularly effective in helping clients manage ADHD and anxiety. These conditions often coexist, and CBT provides a structured, skills-based approach that addresses both sets of symptoms. CBT has helped my clients understand and manage challenging thoughts, emotions and behaviors which can lead to difficulties in academic, occupational, and social settings. Anxiety can exacerbate these symptoms, creating a cycle of stress and impaired functioning. For over a decade, my experience as a LPC utilizing CBT techniques have been consistently effective for my clientele due to the structured and skills-based approach which helps clients understand and manage their symptoms, leading to improved functioning and quality of life. By addressing both cognitive and behavioral aspects, CBT provides clients with practical tools that foster long-term success and empowerment.

Eclectic

I utilize eclectic therapy to integrate elements from cognitive-behavioral therapy, creative therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and other therapeutic modalities depending on what is most appropriate for the client's unique situation. In my experience, this approach allows me to be adaptable and creative in my treatment strategies, offering a more holistic and individualized approach to therapy. Using creative modalities such as art, music, or writing to help individuals explore their emotions, improve self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and enhance overall well-being. I tailor my creative therapy techniques in using an approach which can be particularly beneficial for individuals who may have difficulty in understanding themselves and/or expressing themselves in healthy manners. In my practice, I have found the eclectic approach to be therapeutic in helping my neurodivergent clients gain insights into their thoughts and feelings. Using creative therapy in conjunction with cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness helps to provide a comprehensive approach to treating ADHD and Anxiety.
