Welcome to my profile! I am a LPC in Georgia. I received my Master of Arts in clinical psychology from Argosy University. I have over 21 years of experience. I am also a Certified Case Manager and have a deep understanding of the healthcare system. I specialize in empowering individuals through evidence-based modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I customize sessions to suit your specific needs. I am dedicated to helping you cultivate a toolbox of strategies for lasting growth and well-being.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During the first session of therapy, clients can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere aimed at building trust and rapport. The session usually begins with introductions where I explain my role, and the structure of therapy. Clients are encouraged to share their preferred name and any relevant background information. After that, I will guide the discussion towards understanding the client's reasons for seeking therapy. This involves exploring their presenting concerns, symptoms, and the impact these issues have on their daily life. I may ask questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of the client's history, including relevant experiences, relationships, and previous treatments. A key focus of the first session is to establish treatment goals collaboratively. I will work with the client to clarify what they hope to achieve through therapy and what changes they want to make. These goals may be broad or specific, short-term or long-term, depending on the client's needs and preferences. In summary, the first therapy session serves as an opportunity for clients to share their story, identify their goals for treatment, and set the foundation for future sessions and the journey toward healing and growth
