Hi, I’m Raven, a licensed mental health therapist who has been working in the mental health field for over 8 years. I specialize in helping women and children overcome anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and life’s uncertainties. My approach is supportive and strength-based, focusing on building confidence, improving communication, and developing practical coping skills. Through virtual therapy, I provide a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create positive change and move forward with clarity and confidence.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

After the biopsychosocial assessment, our first session will begin with a check-in to see how you’re feeling and what’s on your mind. From there, we’ll focus on building a comfortable, judgment-free space where you can share at your own pace. I’ll ask about your concerns, goals, and what brought you to therapy while also exploring your strengths, challenges, and any past experiences that may be influencing your current struggles. We’ll also discuss what you hope to gain from therapy, introduce coping strategies if needed, and outline the next steps in your journey. This session is all about establishing trust, clarifying expectations, and collaboratively creating a plan tailored to your needs—so you leave feeling heard, supported, and empowered.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, with over 8 years of experience in the mental health field, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel truly heard and understood. I take a compassionate and strengths-based approach, helping women, adolescent girls, and young girls recognize their resilience and capability even in difficult moments. I excel at helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem by providing practical tools, personalized strategies, and a deeper understanding of their emotions. My ability to connect with clients authentically allows me to meet them where they are while gently challenging them to grow. Additionally, I am skilled at helping clients clarify their goals, build confidence, and develop a sense of direction when they feel stuck or uncertain about the future. My approach is warm, collaborative, and empowering, ensuring that clients leave sessions feeling supported and equipped to move forward.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in working with women, adolescent girls, and young girls who are experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or uncertainty about the future. My ideal clients may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps, but they are open to growth and willing to explore new ways to navigate life’s challenges. I provide a compassionate, strengths-based approach to help women manage responsibilities and self-doubt, adolescents navigate school and identity struggles, and young girls build confidence and emotional resilience. My goal is to create a supportive space where they feel understood, empowered, and in control of their journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use a person-centered approach that combines cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques. My experience with CBT has been transformative in helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. I integrate mindfulness practices to help clients stay grounded in the present moment, reduce stress, and build emotional resilience. In my practice, I apply these techniques to address both the mental and emotional aspects of my clients’ struggles. For example, with clients dealing with anxiety, we work together to reframe unhelpful thoughts while practicing mindfulness to create a sense of calm. This dual approach allows my clients to not only understand their thought patterns but also develop practical tools for managing their emotions and enhancing their well-being.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I specialize in integrating mindfulness-based therapy into my work with clients. Mindfulness has been incredibly effective in helping individuals manage stress, anxiety, and emotional regulation. Through mindfulness, clients learn to observe their thoughts and feelings without judgment, which empowers them to break free from negative thought patterns and emotional reactivity. In my practice, I use mindfulness-based techniques, such as guided breathing exercises, body scans, and mindfulness meditation, to help clients stay present and grounded. For example, with clients struggling with anxiety, we practice mindfulness to manage overwhelming emotions and develop a greater sense of control. This approach not only promotes relaxation but also teaches long-term skills for coping with life’s challenges in a calm and balanced way.

Strength-Based

I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize and build on their unique abilities. Instead of focusing solely on challenges, we identify personal strengths—like resilience, creativity, or problem-solving—and explore how to use them for growth. This approach shifts the focus from ‘What’s wrong?’ to ‘What strengths can help me move forward?’ By empowering clients to see their own capabilities, we build confidence, self-awareness, and lasting change.

Supportive

I take a supportive approach, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and understood. I meet clients where they are, providing encouragement and guidance as they navigate challenges. Through compassionate listening and tailored strategies, I help clients build confidence, resilience, and the skills needed to create meaningful change in their lives.
