20 years of experience

Hello! I’m a licensed Marriage and Family therapist. I am probably one of the most gentle therapist out there. I move at your pace and I’m flexible however I will definitely make sure you stay on track to reach your goals. I have over 20 years experience. I’m half Native American Indian Navajo and half Filipina. On my spare time, I love spending time with family, watching volleyball, working out and eating out. I am a foodie!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We will complete our intake and I will have an opportunity to get to know you and understand your goals. I will definitely give you tools and I’m confident you will leave feeling supported.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I’m very gentle and can establish rapport pretty easily because I value people. Clients know when someone is genuinely caring. You will feel at ease with me because you can be yourself.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My clients are usually wanting a gentler approach. I will challenge you but you might not even notice it because I’m very encouraging. You will feel heard, validated and understood.

My treatment methods

EMDR

EMDR is present-focused therapy, with particular interest in the ways past memories activate emotions in the present moment. I help client in accessing  memories in order to move from a place of emotional activation to a more logical, rational place, so that triggers of the past no longer have the same charge. One technique I use is called BLS "bilateral stimulation," where I will guide a client through eye movements or tapping. During the EMDR process, different emotions and sensations may arise as your brain works to make sense of things.  You will be asked to notice your experience and give honest feedback.  Whatever you are feeling in the moment is okay, there are no wrong answers, and my role as your therapist is that I gently guide the process by observing and being curious. Length of Treatment - It is my goal as a therapist to move clients through treatment swiftly, while at the same time, respecting the desired pace of the patient and the EMDR process. In my experience, the typical range for length of treatment is four to twelve weekly sessions, however, everyone is unique and the exact number of sessions will vary.  Certain issues like a single traumatic event (ex., car accident) may take a shorter number of sessions than a more complex trauma history. Let’s begin!
