As a trauma-informed therapist I place an emphasis on EMDR therapy but still hold an eclectic approach because your situation is unique. I am a holistic and culturally sensitive clinician who places a huge importance on building a trusting relationship with you to promote comfortability and security. I am not here to rush you through your process because it can take some time before you feel comfortable sharing. I have experience working with individuals who have trauma, depression, mood disorders, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and life transitioning issues. I am also a Reiki Practitioner and offer distance healing. Together we can explore and understand the reasoning being prominent issues while working towards healing and resolution. I believe in the healing power of a strong therapeutic alliance. My practice is based on the conviction that with the right support, everyone can effect change in their lives. My style is caring and not judgmental; I utilize Cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy, and Brief Cognitive hypnosis to guide you in the process of learning new skills to manage your thoughts, emotions and behavior. I am clinically licensed in the states of Illinois, Texas, Utah and Minnesota. I have been providing therapy through video sessions for more than three years. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I am a painter and a poet; I consider that Art is another wonderful tool to achieve healing.

Cecily is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and is National Board Certified. She earned a master’s degree in counseling from Chicago State University and has worked with a variety of clients to include children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. Cecily uses a variety of approaches to address client’s unique needs. Her work focuses on making mental health more relevant and accessible for Black women and she uses Biblical Counseling. So often the stigma surrounding mental health issues and therapy prevents Black women from taking the step of seeing a therapist.
