My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavior therapy focuses on learning dialectical behavioral therapy skills to help support skillfulness. Mindfulness is at the center of DBT so helping adolescents and adults who struggle to control their emotions and behaviors will participate in mindfulness exercises throughout different points in treatment. Using this therapeutic approach will help with learning a sense of self, control behaviors and build stable relationships with others.

EMDR

I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist to help you address various forms of trauma related to current/past, childhood and sexual trauma. I have also provided this treatment for individuals affected by intergenerational trauma. I help clients regain their self worth and identity. When you are ready, I will assist you in navigating through difficult emotions by utilizing bilateral stimulation, processing difficult memories, desensitizing the pain and increasing positive cognitions. Let me assist you on your healing journey.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), is an evidence based model that helps children, adolescents and families process early traumatic events/experiences that may have caused maladaptive behaviors and emotional functioning. The treatment is centered around building safety skills, mindfulness, relaxation, cognitive coping skills along with family sessions leading up to the client’s trauma narrative in a safe space.
