I have 8 + years of experience working with diverse populations, genders, and age groups. I received my Master of Social Work/ Social Welfare degree from Stony Brook University, specializing in trauma. I also supported those who have experienced barriers related to substance use, mental health disorders, end-of-life stages/ transitions, and relationship discord. Happiness should always start with you and end with you feeling it! Finding curiosity in discovering strengths within oneself can spread to external desired outcomes.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, we start with introductions, get to know one another. Then I will explain the purpose and expectations of therapy. I would be happy to further explanation or clarify anything we discussed. Next, we will go over what you want to accomplish in therapy. This will assist me in creating a tailored goal plan that we will work through in the following sessions.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My professional journey was purposely crafted for me to gain insight, knowledge, and experience to better serve and support my clients throughout their life span. My strength is that I am creative, authentic, and a natural supporter/ cheerleader for others. Besides providing psychotherapy as a clinician I have also worked as a director at a behavioral health clinic and was able to expand supportive programs through the community that addressed environmental barriers which collectively contributed to a decrease in clients' overall care. I worked as a clinical program specialist who was tasked to build a new system of integrative behavioral health initiatives within a start-up company. Both of these roles were successful by incorporating clients' collective needs and barriers faced by also their clinicians in supporting goal achievement. My strength is viewing individuals openly, and working collaboratively towards finding joy, discovering and honoring your unique true self. New experiences can bring challenges however, with that comes the chance for open opportunities to illuminate self-empowerment and create the life you deserve.
