I have a passion for helping clients who are struggling with all kinds of (or have struggled with) relationship trauma from intimate partners or parents, including: narcissistic abuse and gaslighting, manipulation, emotional and physical abuse, codependency issues, people-pleasing, difficulty setting boundaries or having a pattern of staying in unhealthy relationships. I have helped many clients (men and women) who struggle in these areas. I can help you understand how you arrived at this place, and we can work together to help you heal. I can guide you in your journey to learn to create and maintain healthy boundaries, increase self-esteem and confidence, reduce guilt, and enjoy healthier relationships. I have a unique perspective because I have dealt with (and have overcome) many of these issues in my own life. This work is very near and dear to my heart. Anxiety: Can't turn off those racing, anxious thoughts? If you are struggling with anxiety, I can help you to identify and work through some of the root causes of your symptoms. We would also work on developing practical coping and relaxation skills together, which I could show and practice with you in session. I also like to share videos, apps, and audiobooks that can help. Codependency/Relationship Addiction/Narcissistic Abuse: I specialize in helping others heal from codependency and break their pattern of being in unhealthy or abusive relationships. I also work with clients to set and maintain healthy boundaries in all areas of life. Men's Issues: I have seen many men seeking therapy for the first time. I understand that men and women differ in thinking, emotions, relational approaches, and problem-solving skills. Whether you are dealing with work stress, irritability, relationship issues, substance abuse, or need relationship advice, I will do my best to make you feel comfortable and heard. Then, we can work together on solutions.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During our first session, I will do my best to make you feel comfortable and at ease and let you set the pace. I understand sharing such personal issues with someone new can be tough. That is completely okay if you are not ready to share something initially. You are in charge. The first session consists mostly of learning about the issues that bring you to therapy, what you would like to see change, and background information about your life and relationships.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my past life experiences, having dealt with the challenges of anxiety, narcissistic abuse, overcoming codependency, and learning to create and maintain healthy boundaries. I have reached a place where I am more at peace, and I am grateful I can draw on these experiences to help others heal. Many clients are more comfortable working with me because I can relate to their struggles. I look forward to supporting you in growing and producing lasting change in your life!
