Hello. I'm Catherine. I'm a Generalized Practice Clinician with over 14 years in the field of Clinical Social Work. While I've worked in a variety of settings, the majority of my professional career was spent in Community Mental Health. For the past 3 years, I've focused solely on Psychotherapy and truly love this side of Social Work. Outside of work, I'm passionate about travel, cats, the environment, and cooking. Fun fact- I'm a boarding school alumna.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will discuss expectations for treatment and map out a plan to meet your goals. We'll review your strengths and previous obstacles to change and develop a treatment plan to address them. We'll review cadence of sessions, means of HIPAA compliant communication, the role of supplemental outside exercises / homework (if desired), and set time aside for any questions or concerns.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach is Client centered and you can expect unconditional positive regard and a safe, judgement-free space. If you're still reading, I hope to hear from you. In our work together, you will bring yourself, exactly as you are, and I will encourage you to take what you like and leave what you don't! Let's figure this out together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past two years. It’s helped many clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety depression. It is particularly helpful in better understanding negative self talk and harmful core beliefs. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and less stuck.
