Hi! My name is Betsy and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Tennessee. I graduated from the University of Tennessee and have over 8 years of experience in the mental health field. I specialize in working with women in all stages of life with a focus on self-care, stress management, work-life balance, health & fitness, prenatal/postpartum, life changes, anxiety, grief, depression, and more.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I'll start by sharing a little bit more about my counseling style and what you can expect during our time together. Then, we'll dive right into the challenges you're experiencing. This will help us explore your goals and come up with a plan for future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've always loved hearing people's stories and helping them process any struggles they may be experiencing. I'm drawn to the notion of supporting others, encouraging them to embrace their strengths, and guiding them through life's inevitable changes. I create a safe and non-judgmental space for women to express themselves, explore their goals, and develop strategies to navigate life's challenges.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I've been using CBT techniques over the past 8 years. By using CBT, I will teach you how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all correlated. In other words, our thoughts and feelings tend to influence how we behave. My job is to help you identify and change any negative or anxious thoughts (and related behaviors) that may hold you back from reaching your goals. In addition, I will teach you a variety of skills depending on your needs which may include coping skills, self-care, and stress management skills just to name a few.

Supportive

I've been using supportive counseling techniques for the past 8 years. Through supportive counseling, I provide emotional support, empathy, and encouragement to help you through various stressors. You have a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings- to feel better understood, validated, and equipped with different tools to navigate your stressors more effectively.
