Have you been feeling unusually stressed or overwhelmed lately? Does anxiety hold you back from doing things you once enjoyed? Do changes in mood prevent you from experiencing life to its fullest? If so, you are definitely not alone. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, anxiety, changes in mood or other issues in your life, I'm here to help. My name is Dana and I'm a licensed clinical social worker located in Virginia. I specialize in adolescents and adults experiencing a wide range of mental health issues. I have a diverse clinical background with experience treating anxiety, depression, grief/loss, mood disorders, interpersonal/relationship issues, life transitions and trauma. If you're ready to take the initial step towards improving yourself, please reach out. Together, we can identify challenges that are holding you back and problem-solve solutions to help you function your absolute best.
Our first session provides a great opportunity to build rapport and get to know one another better. I will gather additional details and information related to your history and we will talk about the ways in which current symptoms are impacting your daily functioning. We will then work together to establish collaborative therapeutic goals.
I value a strength-based approach that is tailored to each person's individual needs. I utilize a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, solution-focused interventions and mindfulness-based approaches. It's important to work collaboratively to find effective interventions and tools that work for each person.
I believe that building rapport and having a good connection are two of the most important aspects of the therapeutic relationship. It's my goal to create both by fostering a warm and accepting environment in which you feel safe and supported. I bring compassion, empathy, kindness and humor into my work. Please contact me if you think I may be a good fit for your needs. I hope to hear from you soon!
