Hi, I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I have over 10 years of experience working with children, teens, adults and families on a host of different issues. I have gained valuable experiences working in private practice, in a pregnancy center, working with clients who were previously incarcerated, working with the homeless population, community mental health and the Church. All these experiences helped to make me the rounded clinician that I am today. Many individuals focus on their physical health while ignoring the most important aspect of their being and that is their mental health. I believe that focusing on one's mental health shows fortitude and strength. You don't have to let anxiety, depression, anger, relationship issues, or even career decisions prevent you from realizing your true potential. . I take clients on the journey until they arrive at their destination. “Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go, they merely determine where you start.” Nido Qubein. This quote sums up what I believe when it comes to working with my clients. Where you are right now does not define you, it is your starting point to get you moving in the right direction. The thought of therapy may sound daunting to you, but I can assure you that this could be one of the best decisions that you ever made. Investing in your mental health is priceless. You deserve to be heard and to be healed. This is my story, What’s yours? Let’s talk.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My first session is getting to know you and the issues that brought you to therapy. I will discuss the results of the anxiety and depression worksheets that were sent to you and what they mean. During that time you will get to learn a little about me, and you will get to ask any questions about the process. We will explore your goals for therapy and your overall expectations. Your first session is where I get the opportunity to put some of your doubts (if any) about therapy to rest. Come with your questions or concerns.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe everyone has a purpose and a mission and I specialize in helping you find and connect with your true self or become a better version of yourself. I provide a caring, calming and non-judgmental space for you when you enter my therapy room, allowing you to be as vulnerable as possible. Relationships issues in one form or another can be at the very core of everyone's problems but I can help you to navigate those difficult situations and get you on the right track. I am a motivator and have had great successes moving clients who are stuck. I believe that the journey of a million miles starts with a single step and that is what I help my clients to do - take that first step.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice I have been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for 10 years and found it to be very effective in treating clients with problems such as anxiety, depression, anger, relationship conflicts, and substance abuse. Using CBT, I help clients become aware of the interconnectedness between thoughts, feelings and behavior. This modality focuses on identifying maladaptive patterns of thinking or behavior and replace them with more desirable patterns. During sessions, clients are taught how to identify, challenge, and replace negative thoughts with more realistic ones in order to improve their feelings and mood.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Using ACT I help clients to accept their thoughts and feelings without judgment while committing to focus on their values and goals. I also incorporate the concept of mindfulness to help clients bring attention to the present moment.
