I’m Sherae Green, LMHC, and my passion lies in guiding individuals through life's challenges with empathy and insight. Specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, and cultural identity, I provide a safe, supportive environment that fosters healing, growth, and self-empowerment. Together, we will work to explore your experiences, build resilience, and create actionable goals for a healthier, more fulfilling life. Let’s start your journey today.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together clients can expect a warm, welcoming, and open environment where they can begin to share their story and what brings them to therapy. I’ll ask about current challenges, past experiences, and any goals or hopes they may have for our work together. This initial session is also an opportunity for clients to ask questions, express any concerns, and get a sense of how I approach therapy. Together, we’ll discuss my therapeutic methods and identify approaches that align with the client’s needs. Building a strong, trusting foundation is essential, so I aim to help clients feel comfortable and understood, fostering a space where they feel empowered to express themselves freely. By the end of the session, clients will have a clearer idea of how we can work collaboratively on their journey, as well as some initial goals to focus on as we move forward in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my empathy, cultural awareness, and adaptability. I approach each client with genuine compassion, meeting them where they are and creating a space where they feel valued and heard. My cultural sensitivity helps me connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and I understand how identity, community, and personal history shape one’s experiences and perspectives. Additionally, I’m skilled at adapting therapeutic approaches—whether Adlerian, CBT, or psychodynamic—to meet the unique needs of each client. I balance insightful, deeper exploration with practical tools for everyday challenges, helping clients build resilience while nurturing self-awareness and self-acceptance. My goal is to empower clients with an approach that fosters both immediate relief and lasting personal growth.

My treatment methods

Adlerian

In my practice, I use Adlerian Therapy to help clients understand the impact of early childhood experiences and social relationships on their current behaviors and self-perception. This approach focuses on empowering clients by exploring their unique motivations and goals and understanding how these can influence their lives and relationships. By working collaboratively with clients to address feelings of inferiority and gain a sense of belonging, Adlerian Therapy helps them feel more confident and purposeful in their personal and professional lives. This approach aligns well with my goal of fostering clients' self-awareness, as it offers them a clear sense of agency and direction.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I incorporate CBT in my practice to address specific thought patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to a client’s distress or difficulties. Through CBT, clients learn to identify, challenge, and reframe unhelpful or distorted thoughts and beliefs that affect their emotions and actions. This structured and solution-focused approach allows clients to develop coping skills, practice healthier behaviors, and apply these skills in their daily lives. CBT is particularly effective for managing anxiety, depression, and stress, and I use it to provide clients with practical tools that support lasting change.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Culturally Sensitive Therapy is central to my practice, especially given the diverse backgrounds of my clients. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that respects each client’s unique cultural experiences, values, and identities. This approach involves acknowledging how culture, ethnicity, and social context shape a person’s worldview and mental health experiences. By incorporating culturally sensitive practices, I aim to build a strong therapeutic alliance and create a space where clients feel safe to explore personal and cultural issues without judgment. My goal is to empower clients by validating their cultural identities and addressing any cultural or social stressors they may face.

Psychoanalytic

In working with clients, I use elements of Psychoanalytic Therapy to explore unconscious influences on their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This approach is helpful in identifying deeply rooted patterns that may stem from past experiences, particularly those from early family dynamics or unresolved conflicts. By examining these unconscious processes, clients can gain insight into the origins of their behavior and emotional responses, allowing them to address underlying issues and move toward healthier relationships. The insight gained from Psychoanalytic Therapy can be a powerful tool for long-term change and self-understanding.

Gestalt

Gestalt Therapy in my practice encourages clients to focus on the present moment and gain awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations. This approach is particularly useful for clients who feel disconnected or struggle with processing emotions. By exploring feelings and reactions as they arise in session, clients can gain a greater understanding of their current needs, conflicts, and patterns of interaction. Gestalt Therapy helps clients recognize and take responsibility for their choices, enabling them to create meaningful change in their lives and relationships. This approach often empowers clients to experience a sense of wholeness and personal responsibility.
