Hello, my name is Yvonne Rodriguez and I'm a board-certified psychotherapist and clinical supervisor in the states of Florida and Virginia. I obtained my BA in Psychology from Loyola University and my Master's in Clinical Social Work from the University of South Florida. My clinical interests include: Anxiety Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Relationship Issues, Family of Origin Issues, Stress Management and Adjustment Issues. I have been working with individuals, couples and families for over 33 years. My theoretical orientation is based on the principles of Positive Psychology, Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I'm guided by a strengths-based approach to help my clients increase their level of well-being and achieve meaningful growth in therapy. I am also fluent in Spanish.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I strive to provide a warm and safe emotional environment in which clients feel comfortable discussing their issues and concerns. I encourage my clients to set the pace of therapy and check in often to confirm they feel heard and understood.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My clients can expect a therapist that is engaged and interactive in the process. I provide feedback during every session and value feedback from the client as well. I believe one of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to develop a strong therapeutic alliance.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

My goal is to help clients find a solution to the issues which have brought them to therapy in a reasonable amount of time. I do this by getting to know the client, understanding what has worked and not worked for them in the past, teaching them effective coping strategies and helping them to develop insight into what might be contributing to their difficulties and how to access resources avilable to them.
