Hello, my name is Alicia! I obtained an undergraduate degree in psychology and criminology in 2019 from Ramapo College, NJ and obtained my masters degree in mental health counseling in 2021. During my master's degree program, I worked with Veterans, helping acclimate them from a deployment lifestyle to an academic-civilian lifestyle, in addition to working at a mental health agency in Rockland County, NY. Since then, I have worked in the prison systems here in Florida, specifically working with the incarcerated/confinement population. I also have experience working at a neurology center geared toward patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's, dementia, TBIs, and spinal cord injuries. In 2023, I launched my private practice telehealth business, Healing With Alicia, specifically helping young adults navigate life difficulties, breakups, and relationships, in addition to helping rebuild their self-confidence and self-esteem.
My intake process combines psychoanalytic and person-centered therapy, holistically connecting the mind, body, and soul as one; most importantly, I do this in a safe space where you can fully trust your therapist. I will help you gain your confidence back and help you rebuild your self-esteem. It's my job to help you navigate your story and pinpoint your strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. I am here to support and empower you on your journey to healing.
My counseling approach utilizes person-centered therapy and psychoanalytic therapy. I participate in cognitive behavioral therapy training, acceptance and commitment therapy training, and mindfulness meditation practices. Collaboration with other providers gives me a new perspective on certain topics and opens the door for conversations in safe places where judgment and bias are nonexistent.
