From a young age, I knew I wanted to pursue a profession focused on helping others, and for over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with adults of all ages, children, adolescents, and families who are motivated to make positive changes and live more fulfilling lives. I am here to walk this journey with you, providing support every step of the way. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida, I bring extensive experience in addressing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, career difficulties, self-esteem, trauma and abuse, ADHD, Autism, health issues, and grief and loss. I am skilled in various therapeutic modalities and hold certifications as both a Trauma and Loss Clinical Specialist and a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialist.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other in a comfortable, supportive setting. I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, including any specific challenges or goals you have in mind. Together, we’ll explore your background, including important life experiences and any previous approaches you may have tried. This session is an opportunity for us to establish a foundation of trust and understanding, where you can feel safe and heard. I’ll answer any questions you may have about the therapy process, discuss how we can approach your goals, and outline how we’ll work together in a way that feels right for you. My aim is for you to leave this session feeling supported, understood, and hopeful about the journey ahead.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel truly seen and heard. My extensive experience with individuals and families, combined with my expertise in trauma-informed care, grief therapy, and a range of therapeutic modalities, allows me to meet each client’s unique needs with compassion and skill. I am deeply committed to empowering clients by helping them build resilience, understand themselves better, and find practical strategies to manage life’s challenges. My approach is collaborative and supportive, designed to help clients feel capable and confident as they work toward positive, lasting change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

I’ve been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for over 20 years to help clients challenge unhelpful thoughts and reduce anxiety. CBT helps us understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. By reshaping these patterns, you’ll gain tools for managing anxiety, stress, and other challenges like depression, trauma, and self-esteem issues. Together, we’ll work toward a balanced, fulfilling life with greater resilience and confidence.

Grief Therapy

With 13 years of experience working at Hospice, I have had the privilege of supporting many individuals through their grieving processes. My extensive background allows me to offer compassionate and knowledgeable grief therapy to those navigating loss. Together, we’ll explore the unique aspects of your grief, creating a safe space for you to process emotions, honor memories, and find a path toward healing. My goal is to provide you with the tools and understanding to move through grief at your own pace, fostering resilience and acceptance along the way.

Trauma Informed Care

I am certified in trauma-informed care through the Trauma and Loss Center in Michigan, where I completed my training in 2008. With this background, I am equipped to support individuals who have experienced traumatic events, offering a safe and compassionate space to process and heal. My approach recognizes the deep impact trauma can have on thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll work to build understanding and resilience, allowing you to regain a sense of control and move forward with confidence.

Supportive

My approach to therapy is rooted in creating a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and understood. My goal is to walk alongside you on your journey of growth and healing, providing the tools and guidance needed to help you overcome challenges and reach your personal goals. Together, we’ll work to uncover strengths, build resilience, and foster positive change, empowering you to move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

Psychoeducation

In my counseling approach, I integrate psychoeducation to help you better understand the challenges you’re facing. By providing information on the psychological and physiological aspects of issues like anxiety, trauma, and grief, I aim to empower you with knowledge about what’s happening and why. Understanding these processes can be a powerful first step toward managing symptoms, making informed choices, and achieving personal growth. Together, we’ll explore these insights, equipping you with the tools and understanding to feel more in control and confident in your journey.
