Are you struggling with a major transition? Life can certainly throw us some curve balls. Although you may feel overwhelmed or discouraged, things can get better. I specialize in helping people deal with big events like grief, illness, caring for a loved one, and divorce. These changes might contribute to anxiety, self-doubt, or depression. These challenging times can be exhausting, and it’s key to take care of yourself. With the right help, you can heal and even thrive. More and more people are understanding that mental health support isn’t a luxury, but a necessity that we all deserve. I keep up with the most effective therapies so that I can provide you with the best care possible. I also recognize that your situation is unique, and you have your own struggles and strengths. We will tailor your care to where you’re at, and what you need at this time. I am dedicated to supporting you however I can, through evidence-based therapy, education, and resources. I offer flexible appointments online, through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. If you’re ready for the next step, call to set up an initial consultation. I look forward to seeing how I can help.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can expect a laid back and non-judgemental space to explore your issues that will be met with compassion and the support you need to establish goals for your therapy. We usually spend the first session or two getting to know one another and developing a wholistic picture of what is troubling you. I believe an awareness of where and how problems arise are helpful as is exploring their impacts on your current functioning and relationships. I like to use all manner of tools to help you in this process from talking, written self reflection, sharing videos and resources - whatever might help you to reflect on your current situation, process your thoughts and feelings and then move toward healing and progress.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I believe different modalities of therapy are helpful for different types of problems. Some call this "evidence based treatment". For example - sometimes help for a particular issue may be best addressed with cognitive exercises while at other times, psychoeducational or somatic approaches are more helpful. Building on your strengths is also key.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Most of my experience lends itself to working with clients who are dealing with life transitions such as grief and loss, breakups or divorce, caregiving, changes in schools, challenges with friendships, aging, moving and other situations which bring understandable difficulties and trouble adjusting. I also practice trauma informed care and have a good deal of experience in helping people process trauma.
