Typically, the initial session involves a comprehensive assessment designed to understand the presenting problems and collaboratively create a treatment plan to address the distressing issues. My approach is evidence-based and holistic with a focus on the spectrum of mental health and substance abuse adult population. I am goal-oriented, humorous, authentic, compassionate, purposeful, and professionally grounded.

As a provider, my greatest strength is the capability to develop an empathetic and genuine connection with my clients. I acknowledge the uniqueness of my clients and adopt a non-judgmental stance to create a safe environment that allows my clients to fully express their concerns. I actively listen to their challenges and validate their feelings, thoughts, and emotions. My authenticity helps foster a therapeutic alliance built on trust and purposeful collaboration to engender the healing process.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is one of my preferred treatment models in my practice and has been utilized in varied ways to address thoughts, feelings, and maladaptive behaviors. I employ CBT to identify and challenge any negative thoughts. Also, I use it to restructure client’s irrational thought patterns that culminate in changed behaviors.
