Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker based in Maryland. I received my Master's from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and have been practicing for 14 years clinically and working in the human services field for 27 years. I have a strong background in solution-focused therapy assisting clients to find solutions to problems to improve their daily, quality of life.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then discuss specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked in human services for many years, I have worked with a diverse clientele. This experience has assisted me with developing experience in assessing individual's challenges and how to match solutions to challenges to produce goal-oriented results.
I currently hold a certification in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, which is the foundation of solution-focused therapy. This modality (form of treatment) helps clients find solutions to problems instead of focusing solely on the problem. Solution-focused therapy also incorporates the work/life balance which can be a struggle in today's busy world. When our life is more in balance we create a positive environment in which we can strive!
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can help clients identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors to treat mental health conditions. I have worked with clients utilizing CBT in outpatient settings to assist with improving their daily lives.
Couples therapy aims to improve the relationship of the two people involved - not just by talking about "problems" within the relationship, but striving for improvements through actions interpersonally and as an individual. I have worked with couples successfully in therapeutic settings.
