Hello! I'm Tina O'Reilly, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida, with over 10 years of experience working with individuals, groups, and families in both community and private practice settings. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and co-occurring disorders, regulating emotions, managing stress, and navigating through life's transitions at any stage. I am a client-centered therapist and place much value on creating a safe space to aid in building a trusting therapeutic relationship in which my clients feel heard. I implement Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and Solution Focused Therapy methods to help my clients identify, set, and reach their goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session, will be filled with introductions, an explanation of the therapeutic process, my approach to therapy, your reasons for for seeking therapy, completing or reviewing medical and family history, answering any questions or concerns you have about therapy, including limits of confidentiality, and working together to set goals for our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I place much emphasis on the client/therapist relationship and do my best to create a warm empathetic, environment conducive to open and honest communication without judgement to aid the client in development and attainment of any goals they would like to achieve.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based on the idea that our thoughts shape our emotions and behaviors, so by altering negative thought patterns, we can improve our feelings and actions. As a therapist, I implement CBT techniques to create a collaborative approach aiding the client in identifying and challenging unhelpful negative thought patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to symptoms of distress.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Research has shown the therapist/client relationship is one of the strongest predictors in successful outcomes. Implementing a Person-Centered approach is key to the development of a therapeutic relationship, creating a safe, empathetic, nonjudgmental, environment, where the client is free to explore their thoughts and feelings in an environment where they feel heard and understood.
